I only ordered the palabok, lumpiang sariwa and halo halo (well my brother did). The lumpiang sariwa came out first. It was a good portion with a lot of sauce. The sauce was thick and sweeter than I expected. Usually I'm used to a more garlicky flavor profile. There was plenty of cabbage inside and that seemed to be in. I should have taken a photo of the inside but I was a bit hungry. The palabok came out immediately after, since it looks like the noodles were already portioned out and all they had to do was add the sauce and toppings. This was really really good. The sauce wasn't too overwhelming and the fresh calamansi made it even better. I did wish there was a bit more noodles because there was a bit of sauce. Also, if I could have licked the bowl, I would have. Hahaha. Then my brother ordered a halo halo. He said it was good but he has had better. The service was okay. They got all the items out on time and gave us water right away. The menu is extensive and has a lot of options. The price point is fair. The portions are just right, though in US standards, it would be tiny. But I ain't complaining. One more thing, it's like you either order and find a table or you sit and they come to you. It was a bit confusing. They do have a section with their baked goods that you can buy to take home. That was nice. Also, some items do have an earlier expiration date, so watch out for them. Overall, I would go here again, if the opportunity presents itself.

He suggested Mang Peping's because he's experienced not just good food but along with it, great service. It was a warm humid day, but breezy enough to dine in one of the huts set up outside. We were seated and given the menu immediately. We were a party of 6 and how hungry were we to get all this food! CRISPY KANGKONG: Cooked to order but lacking the crisp given they covered it with saran wrap (therefore trapped steam which caused the loss of the crisp) when the plate found its way from the kitchen to our hut. There were a few pieces that retained its crisp, though, and those were delicious. SIDE OF GRILLED EGGPLANT WITH TOMATOES: Always a good sidekick to any dish. NILASING NA HIPON (DRUNKEN SHRIMP): I haven't had a bad one of these yet and like the rest, these were addictingly delicious. Big Bro and cousin and I were poppin' it in like it was the end of the world. A must have. LECHON KAWALI: Nothing out of the ordinary but delicious. I'd skip it next time, though, to give room for other things on their menu. BUTTERED CRAB: The sauce was way too sweet for all of us - local boy included. It was overwhelming enough to take away the main taste of crab. Gotta make a mental note just have it steamed plain. KINIGTOT: I like that it's not very gamey. The meat was cooked tender and the sauce was seasoned right. I'd recommend this for goat dish lovers. KAREKARE: Like the lechon kawali, nothing out of the ordinary. It's what one would expect at any decent restaurant. This was Pop's order and he liked it a lot, so that's always a plus. LIEMPO: Also ordinary. Seasoning was great, though, and I like that they come in smaller slices. Although delicious, it isn't something I'd order again until I try other things on the menu. SIZZLING BANGUS BELLY: Or at least, I think that was sizzling bangus belly. I was wondering what this dish was upon delivery. The mayo and the fillers were a little to distracting - enough for me not to bother trying it. It just didn't look appealing enough. TORTANG TALONG: Had we known each order came with three, we would have only put in one order. (We got three.) This is one my favorite dishes hands down and they, of course, delivered. HALO-HALO: GodNiece just had to have it since she's never had it served in a whole coconut. She enjoyed it as much as she enjoyed its appearance. FOOD: 3. Some are plain and too ordinary, but still good. SERVICE: 5. They were very VERY accessible and provided excellent service. VALUE: 4. Not too bad for what we got. PARKING: Private lot. A security guard will help you to a spot. OVERALL: 4. Not sure if you can ask, but if you bring fish food, you're more than welcome to feed the fish in the surrounding ponds. That's always a treat. Although I'd skip a few items, I'd do a come back to try many other offerings I didn't get to on this round. It just might be awhile, though, since, I live nowhere here. But they will remain on my radar.

I can't believe it's taken this long for me to write a review about Dagupena…read more I remember coming to this place as a kid many times when we lived nearby, but it wasn't until about a year and half ago when I finally came to visit as an adult. Party of 12, my aunt just did all the ordering for us. Big Bro and I remember just loving EVERYTHING. Fast forward a few months later, it was a must have for lunch. This time, party of 8, we decided a repeat of a few things. The sizzling bangus was a must have as it is the one thing they're known for. I saw the lumpia bangus as their special, so I had to have that as well. Drunken shrimp was also a must, and orders of calamari, pinakbet, bagoong fried rice, grilled prawns and crispy pata followed. And just like the last time, everything was fantastic. The sizzling bangus, marinated in perfection, was delicious as always. The shrimp, geezus, I couldn't stop eating. It was like popcorn on crack, it was gone in a minute. The pinakbet with fresh veggies was amazing. I only ordered the bagoong fried rice out of curiosity, but nothing above par. Ditto the lumpia bangus, but it's definitely something I would order again. Crispy pata was seasoned crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Didn't get to try the prawns as that was GodNiece's grub, but I heard good things. Seriously, though, we all left with the happies. We all succumbed to food coma not too long after. FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 3. It was a challenge trying to catch our server's attention, but I have to mention it is NOT his fault. They were clearly understaffed and overwhelmed. I hope upper management does something about this. VALUE: 5. Worth it. PARKING: Private. It can get full, but security guard will help guide you to a spot. OVERALL: 5. They have a true following which is why they've been around for about a century. It doesn't matter what day or time you come through - they will get packed. Just hope a table is available for you and your party upon arrival. One of me and Big Bro's favorite restaurants. Highly HIGHLY recommending.

We ordered grilled bangus, pinakbut and steamed rice. We didn't wait long and the food came out hot. The bangus was delicious and skin was crispy. The pinakbut was awesome and wasn't too salty. The ambiance was chill. Server was attentive and pleasant. Restaurant is a good size but not too large. There is more seating for larger or private groups in the back. The decor is very authentic Filipino design which I love about it that brings back old memories. Next time we visit Pangasinan again, we'll make it a point to dine here. We love this place. The restaurant is located on San Miguel very near Robinson's in Calasiao.

This has now been taken over by a new owner with a new name. What I found interesting is that the food we had this time around was pretty much similar to the ones we had last time. Parking was never an issue. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, although, I can't imagine eating outside with the heat and humidity. The selections are widespread: to name some, there was steamed clams, fried fish, seafood soup, pansit, fresh lumpia, fried chicken, the various ways pork and beef were prepped (beef steak, kare-kare, dinuguan, etc.) There was absolutely no way one would leave hungry. Food coma was going to be inevitable. Did I mention they had a pretty good selection of desserts! Halo halo, bibingka, etc...(Not a fan, but just putting it out there for those who are!) Funny enough, Big Bro pointed out they didn't have shabu-shabu. The servers were a tad bit slow to bring drinks and clear used plates, but since the place is fairly new, I can let that slide. 3.5 stars. So yeah... it's only fair to say I liked it. For less than the equivalent of $6, it's a steal. Check it out should you find yourself nearby.

It's been so long that I don't even remember what the place looked like but I'll say I was pretty impressed with the overall appearance. Two floors worth of seating situated next to water. What a view! Plenty of tables open and we chose to sit by the water. There are a couple of boatmen selling goodies from the ocean. (Not sure if they're affiliated with the restaurant, though.) The only thing I wanted to try was the crispy kangkong which came out less than crispier than I preferred but pretty good for a starter. (I left it to my party to choose whatever else they wanted.) Got to taste the binagoongan which had a hint of sweetness to it. Not bad either. The crispy catfish was amazing! That fish was no doubt fresh and meaty and juicy with the perfect seasoning. Didn't even need the dip. There was an order of sinigang and kilawin but didn't get to try those since I was focused on the fried fish and got full from it. Heh... FOOD: 4. SERVICE: 3. VALUE: 4.
