Neither of us is naturally comfortable in front of a camera, but Toan has an incredible eye and knows exactly how to direct and pose you. My Dad was always the official photographer for all family events, but sadly he passed away a month before the party. Initially I planned to take on the job myself, but I have two young kids and a lot of relatives I haven't seen in several years that I knew would keep me busy. I reached out to a lot of photographers with good reviews on Yelp. I ranked the photographers I contacted and hoped someone from the top of my list would be available and would not be too pricey. There was a fairly wide range of prices as well as different levels of experience. I really liked what I saw on Harry's website, and he was at the top of my list. So I was incredibly excited when Harry said he was available for the exact date and time I needed. Harry is experienced, and he's a good communicator. The agreement was clear, and everything went as smoothly as it could have been. Harry captured so many special moments throughout the 4.5 hour party. Even though I said there was no rush, our family was grateful to have an online link available to download the photos in less than 5 days after the event. We were grateful Harry provided tips on lighting and space to get good shots of multiple families and a big group photo. The photos were beautiful and captured so many memorable moments that evening including my Grandma dancing the night away. We will always treasure these photos from my Grandma's 100th Birthday celebration. Overall I highly recommend working with Harry. When I plan another trip to San Francisco, I will definitely contact him and set up an outdoor family photo session. Harry is dedicated, experienced, and professional, and we are all so pleased with the wonderful photos. I'm still working on an album for my Grandma; I know she'll especially enjoy reliving the 100th Birthday celebration with her family and friends. Thank you, Harry!

Going into my maternity photoshoot, I had exactly one goal: get some nice pictures taken at a convenient location, in an outfit I wouldn't have to work too hard to put together. After going through dozens of photographer profiles on Yelp and feeling thoroughly overwhelmed, I stumbled upon the reviews for Khushboo at Shutter Magic. Almost EVERY review mentioned how Khushboo made people feel comfortable and relaxed before and during their photoshoots. That was all I needed to hear. I was sold! And what an incredible experience it has been, right from Day 1! First, Khushboo has the dreamiest collection of maternity outfits. She encouraged me to try styles I would never have picked for myself, and patiently let me try on different options until I found the ones I loved. She also connected me with makeup and nail artists and even helped my partner choose his outfit. She genuinely took so much of the planning off my plate! Then came the location. I had a very specific kind of setting in mind, and Khushboo went above and beyond to find it. Not only did she scout locations that matched what I was looking for, she also visited new spots and managed to find places with beautiful flowers. In the FALL. In the BAY AREA!! I still don't know how she pulled that off! A couple of hours before the shoot, she was already checking in on me, reminding me to rest and hydrate, cheering me on as I got my makeup done, and generally getting me excited for something I had initially been quite nervous about. And during the photoshoot itself? She was everything those Yelp reviews had promised and more. She made both my partner and me feel completely at ease, never rushed us, and somehow managed to capture us exactly as we are. The resulting photographs were more magical than anything we could have imagined! I went into this experience wanting a few nice maternity pictures with minimal fuss. I walked away with beautiful memories, photographs I'll treasure forever, and a newfound appreciation for what a wonderful photographer can bring to the experience. I cannot recommend Khushboo enough! I'm already hoping to have her photograph our family for years to come.

Super knowledgeable regarding the requirements of multiple passports of different countries. Kind of pricey. Wished they had the ability to take photos other than just for passports in store. Great quality. Loved how if you ask for advice, they aren't afraid to give it to you or send you to someone they know. Hashtag connections! Blown away by the magnitude of/number of customers coming in and out of the store. Different films available for purchase. Black and white is more expensive than color... When you call and ask where to park...they suggest Grocery Outlet (which is directly across the street) but that you should not exceed 1 hour. If you don't want to risk it, there's metered street parking as well. Why not 5 stars? The "welcome in" and "good bye" near the door is super annoying. Rather have "ding ding ding." Takes awhile to develop (specifically speaking for passport photos) but great quality nonetheless. Not much of a waiting space/area or a place to stand/sit (can get stuffy real quick).
