The décor of the treatment room was lovely and it smelled really nice, but I wasn't impressed by the music. I intended to book another massage with him next month, after he finished the massage, but Chris informed me that he would be leaving this month and I asked where he would be going, but I forgot, so I called Aveda to find out, who informed me that they don't know, right! Don't waste any time and book a massage with him now, as he will be gone soon. 100% highly recommended.

We had a really good chat about what I wanted to have done with my colour and she really tried to understand me and give me advice on how to make it work. She also was from Italy and many people that came in spoke Italian and it seemed nearly all the staff spoke Italian as well. It created a great European atmosphere and I just loved it. My colour BTW looks amazing and the haircut is still shining through my curls after nearly two months. Success.

I arrived about 5 minutes early and - after "checking in" with the reception - was greeted by Jake at around 5:05 pm. He was very friendly and he immediately sat me down to discuss what I wanted. As usual, I had no idea what I wanted so I proceeded to ask him for advice and went from there. Afterwards I was taken to this downstairs room for the hair wash, which was amazingly relaxing. The ambience of the room was set perfectly - dim lighting and comfortable seats - and the person who washed my hair did an amazing job. I went back up to the main hair cutting room and had my hair combed, after which I sat waiting for quite a bit before Jake came back (I believe he was tending to another customer, which would normally bother me but for this experience didn't matter at all since I loved everything else so much). I was extremely pleased with the end results of the haircut. Never before had I been so content and felt so certain that the haircut suited me. AND the way Jake styled my hair in the end was amazing, too. I've become inspired to actually "do" my hair - on some days of the week at least! Overall I really loved the experience, mostly because Jake was so personable, tended to my needs/requests, and just awesome in general. I highly highly recommend this place - especially Jake! You won't be disappointed.

If you are not aware of your skin type and the effects certain products have on your skin, I would urge you to be extremely cautious of this place. I have been here a couple of times and they have managed to peel of skin once and now completely ruin my upper lip by leaving four burn marks on it. My friend who went there once has been through a similar situation. We had to learn a lesson the hard way but I hope anyone who considers going here has sufficient knowledge about their skin and the products suitable for it otherwise you are going to face some serious damage.

It's reasonably priced and the salon is conveniently placed near Baker St station (although walking distance from Marble Arch and Bond St too). I would come back here to get my haircut every time I'm back in London (and I live in France now) -- that's how much I loved this place. My fiance needed a haircut, so we stumbled across this place and he got a really great haircut - they were able to accommodate a walk-in appointment on a Sunday and for £35, he enjoyed the shampoo, haircut, and I was able to charge my phone and enjoy a chai latte at the bar. They have free WiFi also, which is nice if you're waiting for someone. They have a pretty extensive bar/drinks/coffee/tea menu which is awesome if you're waiting for someone, and the tea lattes are some of the best I've ever had (even at coffee/tea shops). They definitely know what they are doing and everyone is super nice. I loved the vibe of the salon that I ended up booking my own haircut appointment just 2 days later with Julia. It was really easy to make an appointment online, and the they have good timeslots, they open all the way until 8 pm so it's easy to make an appointment after work and also have appointments at lunch. Julia was really friendly, made conversation but not in an overbearing, annoying way, took her time, was thorough and spent time making sure the layers and side-bangs were the right length and what would flatter my face. When she was done, someone else gave my hair a blow-dry and style and I absolutely loved the loose curls he was able to get with a brush and hair dryer. I've tried to curl my hair unsuccessfully 30-some-odd years and have never gotten it to look good and/or hold a curl. I wish I had somewhere nice to go to afterwards instead I just home. It lasted a whole day and I saw sad to wash it out the next day. I'm definitely coming back here next time I need a haircut or a blow-out so that they can work their magic. My hair has never looked better!
