Unless you enjoy nightmares, find another company. Initially, we expressed our concern about…read morebrownish-black chunks in the registers, but the techs were clueless about their origin. On the first day, I explained I didn't know how a leaf blower would be effective in cleaning the vent pipes, so they agreed to return with a different type of equipment and use suction to clean the system. I thought that was a better approach.
The next day, they came back, they completed what I thought was the job, and I paid them promptly, assuming everything was in order. However, I made a grave mistake.
Determined to assess the cleanliness of the vent pipes, I decided to inspect them myself. Instead of finding a clean system, I discovered an astonishing amount of dirt. Photos of the findings are attached. In retrospect, I realized that the suction equipment lacked a seal and it had insufficient suction power to pull anything into the vacuum. It barely managed to draw in air, which I had pointed out to the tech when he began. He assured me it was working.
The tech then proceeded to use a 3-inch brush ( a dryer vent brush) and sporadically attempted to clean around the 10-inch vent pipes. Unfortunately, he didn't even use a ladder to monitor his work, and in our case, he wasn't cleaning anything at all.
To thoroughly clean the venting while simultaneously pulling out debris, they should have employed a 10-inch soft bristle brush using strong suction. However, the tech's actions were also reckless. He damaged the condenser fins of our AC unit by aggressively scrubbing them in a crosswise motion. Photos of the damage are attached. I only realized what he was doing after the damage was done. He should have only used a gentle downward motion.
As a result of their actions, I was left with a pile of the same dirt at the registers, and the venting pipes still showed signs of dust and debris. Photos of the remaining dirt are attached. The vent registers were left uncleaned, and they left a mess on the floor, with black fingerprints on the walls.
I contacted the tech and requested a refund since our system was just as dirty as when they started. The condenser fins are now damaged, and the venting is still full of dirt. I've attached other photos for reference.
The tech is trying to convince me that the Simple Green spray they used is a disinfectant. It's hard to believe that spraying about 20 inches into one vent will effectively disinfect the entire system. The spray was never discharged into the entire venting system; instead, I was left with a pool of the spray at one register, along with all the dirt that was already present.
I'm still waiting for a refund and hope to prevent anyone else from experiencing the issues I've encountered. Despite paying $750 and making the system worse, they offered to return, but allowing them to attempt the job for a third time seems foolish, especially since it was a simple job with only two short runs.
Save yourself a nightmare and find another provider. They offered to return, but given the quality of their previous work, I couldn't trust that the next visit would be any better. I'm still requesting a refund.
These guys are not professionals; they're just some friendly neighborhood brothers with a leaf blower, a dryer vent brush, and some Simple Green!
