Needed a place for boarding for my fur babies while our family was on vacation. I saw this place…read morepassing by and looked up reviews. Easy to book the babies boarding online and via text messages with the facility. Boarding was reasonable I suppose. We haven't had to board them before but now don't have anyone to take care of them anymore when we are away since losing my daddy. Ran $65/night for the both of them plus new clients get 1 night free. When dropping off, they didn't want to go in given this place is attached to a veterinarian office and has that smell that fur babies hate. But dropped off and reassured them that we'd see them soon. Drop off and pickup times are set and have to drop them by 3pm and can pickup as early as 7am. The facility was very prompt in communicating. I got pictures and a report card with summary of their stay on their last day of boarding. Pickup was easy but Bingo must've had an accident that morning and instead of cleaning him up before me picking him up, he had poop smeared on his butt and back side. Good thing I packed blankets for the ride home. Had to give him a bath as soon as we got home. Boy did he stink! Overall good experience other than the pickup poop incident and pictures on the last day rather than during their stay. I kept wondering how my babies were doing. They were so happy when mom was there to get them!!!

Apparently zero stars isn't an option for a review…read more.. I hope that if you choose this business to board your pet, that your experience is nothing like ours. We visited the New Tampa Pet Resort during the week that we were planning to kennel our dog Deuce - a healthy 22 lb. West Highland White Terrier that we have had since he was 8 weeks old. We told them that we have a very skittish dog, and that we did not want him interacting with other dogs. We were promised (and paid for) 3 supervised daily walks on a leash away from the other dogs in the kennel. They told us that they could handle our requests. My wife and I dropped off Deuce at 3 PM on Friday, October 17th. My wife talked to the receptionist and confirmed the instructions; they were laughing between the two of them that they were struggling to spell the word "skittish" as the receptionist was documenting this. We dropped him off and prepared to travel out of town the next morning for the weekend. We were outside our home in Tampa 3 hours later, and we received a voicemail that no pet parent wants to receive - our dog was injured, and they were taking him to the vet. No information about what vet they were taking him to or the extent of his injuries. We quickly sorted that out and went to the VEG emergency pet facility on Dale Mabry. He was mauled by a 200 lb. bull mastiff after New Tampa Pet Resort placed him in an outside dog run with a hole in the fence surrounded by over 50 large dogs. We were at VEG for over 6 hours. Deuce received over 100 internal and external stitches, and we left the hospital with a dog that had a drain tube hanging from his body. We had to go back to VEG four more times in the following 2 weeks to address complications with the surgery and eventually drain tube and stitch removal. The response from New Tampa Pet Resort was a combination of indifference and protecting themselves legally. The local manager apologized the day after the incident and told me that they screwed up. They showed me the hole in the fence, of course it had been covered up with a piece of temporary fencing. The instructions that my wife communicated to the receptionist on two separate occasions had magically disappeared. The cameras in the fenced area that were there before the hurricanes have not been replaced. A regional manager for New Tampa Pet Resort's parent company reached out to us a couple of days after the attack and told us that their insurance company would handle the rest. We never heard from a single person at the New Tampa Pet Resort facility again. Pets are designated as property in Florida, so unless your pet dies under their care your legal options are limited. Their insurance company would only reimburse us for our lost travel expenses if we kept quiet. No thank you. We now have a wonderful member of our family who is afraid to go outside for fear that he will be attacked again. Daily walks are difficult; we must take great care that there is no interaction with other people and certainly no other animals. Our dog will never be the same.

We have used Lucky Dawgz for short boarding stays on a fairly regular basis for almost 2 years now…read moreas we have family who live a few hours away that we visit every other month or so. We even used them for our honeymoon! We have had a great experience every single time. Between the great pricing, the free nights you earn and their clear love of all things furry you can't beat it. Not to mention he large fenced in rooms your pet gets instead of a tiny little crate. We originally chose this location because it was the only one in the area that allowed my lab-pit mix to join in play groups due to her breed (she is the sweetest dog you'll ever meet). We keep using them because time after time we pick her up and get a 5 minute story about how silly and sweet she is, or a detailed reenactment of how she was playing out back. From the stories they tell and the fact that they know my dog by name as we walk in, you can tell they care for your dog as if she was their own. Though it may not look like the fancy "pet resorts" around this area, you can guarantee my pup is getting the best care she could from anyone in this town. Thanks guys! See you soon!

It was nice that this place took us on short notice. We needed a place for our puppy to stay since…read morewe were buying a home and couldn't have her stay with us. They also took her to the vet to find that she had a UTI. More on this later... The place was at an old house. It was quite small, but it was what they had. The rooms were little wooden walled rooms. It was nice that our puppy wouldn't be shoved into a small crate or cage somewhere. We interacted with one woman who was very pleasant. A couple times later, that woman was gone. We were then dealing with another woman who was far from pleasant. She had a very condescending tone each time we spoke with her. She argued with us about the rates and dates of stay. Even if the customers were wrong, you don't speak to them that way. This is Customer Service 101. They took our puppy to the vet when there was a suspected UTI. This was very awesome of them to help us out with this. That seems like going above and beyond to me. We are very grateful for that. What's upsetting is that they didn't give the medicine to our puppy in appropriate doses. The pill was prescribed at once every 12 hours. There were enough to be done in about a week. Two weeks later we picked up our puppy and the medicine still had a few pills left. This means that our puppy did not receive the dosage correctly. If this were a more serious UTI, or other condition, things could have been much worse for our dog. The business ended up relocating while they had our dog. They told us they would be moving, but didn't give us a street address. They mentioned it was "down the road about a mile." We drove down that way, but couldn't find it. We were able to get the address and find the place on the day we picked up our puppy. The new place was in a mobile home. We didn't tour or care to look around. We can't give feedback on that new location. Overall, we weren't happy with this place based on the woman owner. We started out happy, but that turned around when she spoke to us the way she did. I would not recommend this place to a friend.

I understand the appeal but don't think it worked well for my pet. I have a basset hound so she is grouped with the big dogs due to weight although she is much smaller than most the other dogs in size so I think that's why she wasn't very playful or social (which is extremely out of the ordinary). Needless to say I personally won't be going back.

We love Camp Bow Wow!!!!! My pup cannot run in there fast enough on day care days!…read more The staff is so sweet and so passionate about the dogs. My dog is very timid/scared around strangers but he has no problem running away with all of them and being pet by them. They've always made me and him feel very comfortable and confident with their care. Three of my favorite parts of camp bow wow are: 1) themed weeks. Each week the theme for camp changes and that includes sounds, smells, activities, etc. It's very fun! 2) all the activities! They offer so many group activities and one-on-one enrichment opportunities. My dog lives for water days and ball pit days - cannot get enough! I included a photo they snapped on their instagram. Pure joy. 3) cameras and photos!! They post so many photos throughout the day to social and they're all soooo cute. You can also watch a live feed of each room to check on your pup throughout the day. I highly recommend Camp Bow Wow! 10 out of 10!
