Jenn was recommend and I liked her yelp reviews and her website. I met with her and it was getting close to D day. When I first met her she had this aura that was gentle, kind, and patient. Right away I knew I wanted her with us to welcome my son. She was flexible and knowledgeable. I thought her prices were very reasonable. We meta couple times before even though it was so close to my delivery day. When I started to go into labor she set aside time and met us at the hospital when I asked her to join us. I really liked the birth plan that she created for us. During my very long delivery she was there. She encouraged my husband to do what I wanted him to do. She remembered everything I asked her to do. I also really liked her knowledge and essential oils which brought such a great approach. The best part is my husband and I had an amazing experience and she helped facilitate my desire to have a natural, no medication birth in the hospital, she advocated for me, and I felt so empowered and had the best recovery possible. I would recommend Jenn to anyone looking for a doula because of her awesome cool and calmness during such an important and intimate moment. Definitely choose Jenn and you won't be disappointed.

I interviewed a handful of doulas (on FaceTime due to the pandemic) most with multiple levels of experience. CC was the last doula that I interviewed and I knew that my search was over. Despite me being her first client, I could tell just from our FaceTime conversation that she was passionate about being a doula and truly would do her best to support me through this pregnancy and delivery. During the pregnancy and especially in the days leading up to my delivery, she was a wealth of knowledge and when she didn't know an answer she would admit that she didn't and do research. When I went into labor, she immediately came over and helped me labor at home until I was ready to go to the hospital. From there she supported myself and my husband staying in contact with him so that I could rest. Without CC reassuring me that I was capable of a successful vbac I honestly never would have had the confidence to try. When my husband and I became pregnant with our first child, I was still carrying a deep grief. My…read moremother had passed away just one year earlier, and as a 38-year-old first-time mom, I felt lost without her guidance. I remember sharing that with Chavah early in my pregnancy, and from that moment on, she cared for me with a level of compassion and sensitivity that I will never forget. Before I even chose a midwife, I prayed for guidance. Then I opened Yelp, and Chavah was the very first midwife I called. After speaking with her on the phone, I didn't search any further. Looking back now, five months postpartum, I truly know she was an answer to my prayer. Chavah cared for us from the very beginning of my pregnancy--around three months along--through birth and into those precious first weeks postpartum. Throughout every appointment, she was wise, kind, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to educate us, answer our endless first-time-parent questions, and guide us through each stage with confidence and reassurance. One thing that especially touched us was her willingness to go above and beyond when life threw us an unexpected curveball. Midway through my pregnancy, my husband and I had to relocate, moving about 70 miles away. Most people would have understandably referred us elsewhere, but Chavah generously agreed to keep us on as clients. We were so grateful. Those extra miles meant more to us than she probably realizes. Our pregnancy was healthy and uncomplicated. The only bump in the road was that I needed an iron boost, and Chavah quickly connected us with excellent care for a couple of iron transfusions. Her experience and attentiveness gave us complete confidence that we were in good hands every step of the way. When it came time to give birth, Chavah was absolutely amazing. She created an environment where I felt informed, supported, and in control. Well... as much control as a woman can feel while temporarily visiting another dimension during contractions. Thankfully, our son had places to be and arrived after just five hours of active labor, making his debut before lunchtime. Today, we are five months postpartum and have a healthy, thriving baby boy. I've intentionally taken my time writing this review because I wanted to reflect carefully on our experience and express just how grateful we are. Chavah brought wisdom when I needed guidance, encouragement when I felt uncertain, and compassion when I was grieving. She cared for not only my physical health, but my emotional well-being too. I honestly cannot imagine a better midwife experience. If we are blessed with more children in the future, I would choose Chavah again without hesitation. She was there anytime we needed her and because such a rock in our journey. We started really early in our pregnancy with Chavah and I haven't stopped recommending midwifery to my expecting friends. I personally felt like the pills really helped me with both my energy and my mood during those early postpartum weeks. I felt like I had a little more energy to get through the long days and nights, and I noticed a positive difference in my overall mood as well. I sought out Trapti during my pregnancy after experiencing persistent low back pain in my first and…read moresecond trimesters, along with very frequent urination. Prior to working with her, I had seen a pelvic floor PT through my insurance and was told my pelvic floor was both tight and weak. While that experience was somewhat informative, the guidance I received - mainly belly breathing and a few yoga exercises - didn't lead to meaningful or lasting improvements. As an occupational therapist myself, I have an understanding the body and therapeutic approaches, but pelvic floor therapy is not my area of expertise, and there is still limited research in this space. That made it even more important for me to find someone highly knowledgeable and experienced. Trapti is incredibly well versed in this work and is truly an expert in what she does, which gave me a lot of confidence throughout our sessions. Working with Trapti has been a completely different experience. She takes a truly holistic, bio-psycho-social approach, looking beyond just the physical mechanics. She spent time understanding my stress levels, lifestyle, habits, mindset, and even incorporated a level of spirituality into our sessions that I deeply appreciated. It made the work feel more connected, intentional, and impactful. The exercises and strategies she provided addressed not only my pelvic floor, but also the surrounding muscles and my overall well-being. Now at 34 weeks pregnant, I am experiencing zero low back pain, my stress levels feel much more regulated, and I can actually feel my pelvic floor responding and blooming with my breath while also getting stronger in preparation for a natural, medication-free birth. One of my initial fears was tearing during labor, and Trapti has been incredibly supportive and proactive in helping me work through that concern. Due to some challenging circumstances at home and my work schedule, I wasn't able to dedicate as much time to my exercises as I would have liked. Trapti worked with me to adjust my program and encouraged me that the process takes time. As long as I'm working on it, I will get to the finish line! She was available anytime I had questions and taught me about my body and mind and how everything is connected. During one session in particular, she spent half our time encouraging me and talking with me about some things I was going through, unrelated to my pelvic floor. But reminded me that so much of our mental and emotional states affect the pelvic floor. She gave me practical ways to release stress and relax my pelvic floor. She felt more like a friend, walking and working with me through each sessions. It was bittersweet when I reached my goals! I was happy to no longer experience incontinence, pain, or a weakened core, but was sad I wouldn't see Trapti regularly anymore! I am so thankful I found her to help me on this journey! She has all the experience and knowledge we were looking for paired with kindness and confidence when it came to all things birth. She educated us throughout my pregnancy (including a couple in person meetings at our home), prepared us for every moment up to the labor and delivery- where she was my ally, my safety and support, my everything, even photographer! I think my husband and I would've felt lost without her. During my labor she was massaging me and giving me all the affirmations I so needed to hear. Guiding my husband on how to support me through all the hard moments and helping me make the big decisions in the hospital. Because of Roe I was way more confident in my birth decisions and knowing when to go with what doctors were recommending vs when to stay firm and advocate for myself on what I did or didn't want. She was immediately supportive when I chose to accept the epidural, which put me at ease and helped me to welcome my baby. I would have been totally lost without her, it was crucial to have someone with her experience to consult on the many decisions that come up in labor. I wanted to try to do this naturally. I did my research and met with a few doulas and found Cali. I immediately felt like it would be a good fit and so did my husband. We both felt calm and comfortable talking with Cali and while we wanted natural and she seemed to be 100% on board with that, she also stressed the importance of a safe labor and delivery for both mom and baby. That was important to us as well b/c we had every intention of remaining flexible if the birth plan could not be followed. We are so glad we chose to hire a doula and so happy it was Cali. I can say with great confidence that if it had not been for Cali and her support during my 12 hrs of labor, I would not have had the natural birth I wanted. She coached me through each contraction, involving my husband throughout the process, and I was able to stick to the plan. Now a couple months later I have such positive, powerful memories of the labor and delivery of my sweet boy. After birth, the postpartum visit was even more helpful than I anticipated. Unfortunately, they didn't work with my schedule. My main concern being a new mom was breastfeeding. I went online and tried finding a doula who would offer me a private class. Alas, I found Cali. What immediately impressed me was how quick she responded to my intro email. She was open to come over to my house, teach me the basics about breastfeeding and offer her advice postpartum. Cali was helpful, professional, and caring. Having my first baby with Cali's support made the experience that much better. So glad I found Cali!
