He never stated that he wanted to come by to provide a more accurate figure. We reviewed what needed to be done, all areas were small & contained thanks to quick identification of the source & water extraction equipment. The pictures I posted in the review were the same pictures I sent to the business owner. An estimate is not a contract, it is a written statement indicating the likely price that will be charged for specified work or repairs. Estimates protect the individual by understanding what they are signing up for when they agree to work with a contractor or business. I can't speak to the quality of their work. However I contacted them for a quote and the gentleman asked for pictures of the areas needing repair. A quote was provided quickly for $5800 (see pictures for work needed). Replacing sheetrock, spackle, sanding, painting, and associated materials / labor). This was related to water damage which was being covered by my home owners insurance. When asked for a written estimate, he stated he doesn't give them unless I am going to guarantee him the work. I've successfully received many written estimates for construction related activities in the last 7 years and expressed my surprise with this statement.

Hired these guys as general contractors to get house in order before we moved in. They were…read moresupposed to do some electric and minor plumbing, refinish floors, paint, install ad splits and add a mantle on top of an existing fireplace. They installed the dishwasher incorrectly. I had to chase the AC sub to get the remotes that should have come with the splits. The sub who they contracted to do floors ruined most of them, stained and broke tiles and left stain hand prints all over the walls. The painters did not adequately prep walls so they are not flat and old paint colors/wall paper glue is noticeable. The same painters also washed brushes in bathroom sinks (instead of outside) ruining some of the fixtures. I had a different plumber address the excess of paint that created a clog in the main the week we moved in. And, I am still removing the paint splatter they left on the newly (but poorly) refinished floors. Worst of all, they left me with over $10K damage to my house and refused to take calls to even finish work already paid for. Instead of adding a mantle as requested, B&B chopped out the hearth--original to this 1930 spanish Mediterranean--breaking the firewall, ruining the marble edging and damaging the mortar in the bricks below; they even reset the antique wooden fireplace improperly. Billy is a great saleman and seeems like a nice guy; talks a good game but I am so sorry I fell for the act.
