As a realtor for 17 years and who has renovated and built homes I have watched many inspectors over…read morethe years and hands down this is my #1 choice. Many agents who work for their clients best interest as I do, echo my sentiments for the same reasons. A continuous learner, a leader in his association, a thorough inspection while explaining things to my buyers as he goes through the inspection, a great report on a memory stick including pictures and a home maintenance guide, Constant improvement by adding additional services like a thermal imaging camera and radon testing equipment. They take the time to educate agents and buyers so they are fully aware of the findings, offer buyers after service support and even return to double check something if the buyer needs further explanation. Most agents have a very short list of preferred inspectors who meet our criteria and hopefully work for their client, the buyer. There are other good inspectors who don't make our list for various reasons and others who just don't make the list. Buyers sometimes hire inspectors through other recommendations or at random and most times have good success. My husband and I recently had an inspection done on our wood stove. We are new to having a wood…read morestove and have never dealt with inspections, cleaning or use of one. We had Ryan come inspect our wood stove and upon finding a few issues with it, failed our wood stove. We had tried since we moved into our home in May 2019 to find a company to service our wood stove with no luck so when we finally found one we were so excited. The reviews were great but unfortunately our experience was far from great. The issue is not that we failed it is that we were not made aware that they do not service the issues they find. We paid for a less then 10 minute inspection- and told we would be emailed a list of level 2 technicians that can help us and then we would have to pay for the inspection a second time. After the level 2 came- he found several issues that the first tech missed. When we called Ryan to explain we had some issues with the fact that he had mislead us thinking he could fix the issues and plus missed some issues he was less then empathetic. Unfortunately we are out close to $200 and this after we felt we did our research and asked the right questions we still ended up on the bad side of things. I would recommend some open and honest communication- he was quick to explain he didn't clean the wood stove but inspected them, then also left out the fact that he doesn't service them. One simple explanation could have saved a lot of time and money.
