With low light and candles on the table, the ambiance was as romantic as it gets. The door was propped open and beautiful music wafted in from around the corner. We started by sharing the tonnarelli pasta which had cacio cheese, lemon, mint, and Sichuan pepper. My first course was followed by duck with apricots and a caramelized raspberry reduction. The duck was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the sweetness from the fruit and reduction that were paired with it. I ended the night with a strawberry semifreddo that was cold and refreshing. We loved the food and the atmosphere so much that we found ourselves there again the following night. On night two, the dining room was packed and we had the option of taking the last seat by the door or eating in their bakery next door. We opted for the bakery. There was one couple finishing when we were seated so we essentially had a private dining area for the night, which was perfect. They started us with bruschetta and olives and then we split the maltagliati with white ragu sauce, red pepper cream, and pecorino cheese. It was "lick the bowl" delicious! I got the chicken thighs stuffed with tomatoes and olives and served with a balsamic vinegar reduction, which was full of flavor. On our last night in Italy, I couldn't pass on a proper tiramisu.
