I asked for him to update the medical notes he made, but instead of addressing his misinformation he shut off replies on the patient portal. (I originally chalked up the prior visit to him having a bad day, but I realize there is something wrong with how he treats his patients). He pushes medication to treat rather than looking to heal the patient. He barely will look you in the eye when addressing you. His office is a mess. The way he speaks to his staff is undesirable. Today I had an appointment with him at suggestion of my dietitian/nutritionist for blood work. When he came in the office you could tell he was annoyed and threw the paper from my dietitian/nutritionist requesting the labs on the counter by his computer. He tells me my choice of a nutritionist was a joke. He then proceeded to raise his voice at me when I asked if he could reach out to the nutritionist for more clarity of what she was requesting he then responded "why should I reach out to her, I don't know her". I responded by reminding him he suggested that I see a nutritionist last year, his response was "I didn't recommend her". But, he never gave a recommendation at all. He made me extremely uncomfortable in his office today with his irate behavior, I have never experienced anything like this with a Doctor. Among my favorite of his qualities is his ability to be direct and frank with his patients. He demands honesty and trust, which are two of the cardinal tenets of psychotherapy. It won't work otherwise. I always have and will feel completely comfortable speaking with Dr. Fayer and I highly value his approach, his methods, and his advice. He is very attentive and frequently checks in with patients. I also feel strongly that Dr. Fayer is the ideal choice for struggling patients who need to determine what medication(s) are best for treatment and laying the foundations for establishing a healthy lifestyle, balanced mood, and high self esteem. Dr. Fayer will help you tremendously, but you have to do the work yourself, which he'll masterfully guide you through. He genuinely cares very much about his patients' welfare, feelings, success, and the integrity of his craft.
