This place is a bit out of the way for us so we tend to stop in when we're here for events (Cornwall Community Cats does a fundraiser here). We also brought our puppy here for the first time to get Santa pictures on Black Friday weekend, which turned out perfect. The store has a lot of specialty items you don't see at all the chain stores and they're fairly priced. The staff is knowledgeable about what they sell and are very helpful. I have had horses for over 20 some years and have tried a lot of different feeds, Brandts by far has the best feed available and always had, a bit inconvenient for me because of the hours but well worth the effort to get there and get their feed. The staff is always cordial and willing to help out and all very knowledgeable. read more

As an owner of several exotic parrots, finding a good selection of both maintenance pellet and a variety of seed mixes is difficult and often involved shopping at multiple locations. Went in to purchase cat food. They had 2 bags there. Noticed the expiration date was only a couple weeks away on both. Was told that it is "fine". It's good for 4 months past the date. Called the company. They stated that they did not use the same preservatives that others do and it was not ok 4 months after the expiration date. Told me to take it back and get a refund because it could possibly make the cats sick if not used quickly. Which I did. And explained that the company doesn't recommend using this beyond the expiration date. Went back 2 weeks later and they had a new bag. The old bag, which expired was still there and marked down in price. When I went to the cashier she said that they had a cheaper bag and brought it over. I told her to check the date and she said "oh". I told her I didn't want an expired bag and that the company doesn't recommend selling it. I then went back a month later for a new bag and they didn't have the size I wanted. The girl asked if I found what I wanted and told her "no" and told her what I wanted. She then walked over and looked at the shelf and said "Nope. Sorry. Don't have it." I got annoyed because the response should have been, "Oh, sorry no. We don't have it right now. Would you like us to order it in and it'll be in next week?" So I left and ordered it from Pet HQ in Annville and it was in the next day. In fact, I had left a message what I wanted at Pet HQ and when I called back the lady answered the phone with "I'm ordering it right now so you can have it by tomorrow. I didn't call right back because I wanted to get it on this order and had to call them right away." They obviously have caller ID. I guess Brandt's didn't need my $42.00. read more

I have been buying all my pet products from Brandt's mill for 50 years or so, i never had a single complaint in all that time, very good prices and excellent service,......this is my first time i ever got on the review, but after reading about the person with the cat food problem, they should go some where else and pay more,.....i bought human food that said expired, i was in the Army back in the 60's eating C-Rations from the 40;s i am 70 yrs.young and doing well,...and people want to complain about cat food a couple of weeks away, i say get a real life, this is the 21st century, your life and your cats life are not in danger, like Forest Gump said,..(life is like a box of chocolates) Think about it !! read more
