Early on Eric Allison, whose father was a principal in the agency, structured a policy that I was never to find out the full breadth and depth of coverage until the fires. Gondola-Kinne was also very good about contacting me when a new product being offered might fit with my profile. Over the years I added three new endorsements, all of which came into play during my rebuild. They were: 1) Extended cost and replacement. It is what is says it is. Having this provision allowed me to rebuild without taking a hit to investments, savings, or equity. 2) Ordinance and Law: Without this I would have been flapping in the breeze for over $65k for the costs of bringing the rebuild up to current building codes. 3) Debris Removal and Demolition: actual costs for demo in the wake of the 2017 fires topped out over $130k. Again, I had no idea what this coverage meant but I trusted my agent and it was in place long before I ever needed it. Not overinsured but appropriately and adequately insured. At the outset of the 2017 fires when the diaspora was happening, it was the principals of this agency that immediately reported me as missing. A business relationship of this quality requires a mutual interest and goes well beyond what any insurance premium or commission could ever have in terms of their service to me when the chips were down.

Nancy kept her cool professionalism intact through multiple iterations of a transaction that would have driven other escrow officers into early retirement. She stayed calm and organized and shepherded this difficult process to completion. If you are planning on buying real estate in the Healdsburg area, you should ask your real estate agent if they would specify Nancy Clough and First American Title in their contract documents.
