Never have we seen a smarter, more caring, and compassionate caregiver. She has helped us through some very difficult medical issues, and we are so grateful. Must add, poor customer service from the front office staff, who are abrupt and rude, especially on the phone when trying to get an appointment. I went to pick up paperwork 10 minutes before the office closed for lunch. I was treated like I was a nuisance rather than a patient by the young lady at the desk. The PA, Proch, (at the Brandon office) has very little bed side manner. Will not go back here. read more

Their care quality could be better I was seen by Joe Braden. The billing lady explained to me that whatever objection I had is pretty much policy when it comes to how they treat. In my case, I have a bad back, lower back to be exact and I went there, hoping to be able to be recommended a specialist or to be checked out and I was told to be treated with pain meds for six weeks with an x-ray and they did not tell me ahead of time that they did not take my insurance and that end up being an out of network service literally I believe I waited longer in the waiting area than any actual "treatment", I had to call and complain so instead of $142 it's now $106. I also called the billing lady around 10 AM and just now got a call at 4:00 PM. Staff is nice the people they are nice but the quality of my service in regards to the PA did not grant $142 bill. read more

My husband and I were both going to this facility but have now decided to go elsewhere since we have had too many issues! Most recently, my husband made an appointment because he was having chest pains. Dr Braden ordered a chest x-ray and blood tests. My husband went for both then waited and waited for the doctors office to call to discuss the results but THEY NEVER DID! Instead, he had to call the office and all the nursing staff said was that he could come by and pick up his results. Not once did the doctor ADDRESS his blood results or Xrays, etc. Looks like if he wanted to discuss further, he would have to pay for another office visit! They tell you not to use Google your medical questions, but that seems to be more efficient in getting help than this office. Avoid! read more

I've been a patient at the Apollo Beach office for over 15 years. Always a positive experience. Caring, efficient staff who takes an interest in your overall health. Horrible experience with PAULA!!!! All through my visit she barely looked my way ! Kept say could be this "I don't know" could be that "I don't know" when I was speaking to her.. her response uhhuh uhh uhu uhu never making eye contact completely dismissed me. This is a dilemma. I love my primary care giver, Paula Proch. I am not enamored with their follow up. Having to wait a week for my test results. I had them within days but wouldn't have a clue what they mean. I called 5 days straight often twice a day. Not one call back. I finally went on their website and requested an appointment, and expressed my anger at not getting a callback. I am now sitting here waiting for my virtual appointment that should have been a half hour ago. Guess what nothing! Called the office and they're closed for lunch for 1 1/2 hours. I wouldn't be so upset but I'm waiting on results of a brain scan!!! read more

Kristine Rednour is the best. She doesn't just look at lab and imaging results she looks at the person. She is patient and really listens to you. She's also prompt but if you do have to wait it's because she had to spend extra time with another patient. Don't worry though because she will take extra time with you too. Very disappointed and awful 1st impression! Had new patient annual appointments for my husband and I today. Upon checking out after being seen they inform my husband that The Visit is not a 100% covered like a well check should be because he is a new patient. I scheduled the appointment as an annual appointment and we were not instructed that that was incorrect nor were we made aware ahead of time that we would owe a balance on the way out. The staff was completely unsympathetic or apologetic! I contacted my insurance company and they said they are tricky billing in order to make more money. I feel this is shady and a terrible way to treat patients especially that are establishing with you for the 1st time. Needless to say I canceled my appointment and will definitely be establishing with a different group of doctors that don't practice shady billing just to make more money! read more

My family has been going to Brandon Primary care for the past few years, and we have been very happy. We see the amazing Paula Proch, and cannot say enough nice things about her. She is truly brilliant at figuring out ailments and what the best treatment is. We are so thankful we found her. The only reason I gave one star is because I can't put no stars. The front desk staff was very sweet so they deserve one star. I waited 30 mins to go back. They took someone who was there after me, before me. Then the doctor was very rude. I don't feel like she listened at all. I will not be going back here. I felt belittled and disrespected. I have never felt that way in my life at a doctors office. If you are looking for a family doctor, go somewhere else. read more

I saw Jessica Sheppard (PA) a year ago. She misread my labs and misdiagnosed me. Her lack of empathy and haughty attitude about me questioning her about this new illness was shocking and disturbing. She completely discounted my feelings and prescribed me a drug (that is contra indicated for another of my medications). When I expressed my concerns about the drug interaction, she told me to "not trust the web" (I was looking at the drug's website). When I told her that I wouldn't take the medication, she said, "Fine, do whatever you want." In my fear (all induced by her), I went to see a specialist, who was horrified at my story. The specialist looked at my labs (the same labs, btw) and said, "You've been horribly misdiagnosed. You don't need that medication. Here let me fix what you're currently on because that too, is messed up." I can thank Mack Knowles for that one, btw. One year later and, thanks to the specialist, I am feeling much better than I have felt in all of the years I have been going to that office. I will never go back to them. They are dangerous. read more

I saw Jessica Sheppard (PA) and was extremely disappointed. I thought that I would take a chance and see a young PA even knowing that PA's have minimal clinical experience before practicing. I was hoping that since she was young and was recently a grad student, she would be relatable. The only thing she has done for me is write referrals and order tests - she has zero regard, insight, or empathy. No matter how inexperienced one is, these things are the bare minimum that I expect from a provider. I need a primary care provider, NOT a social worker. She wouldn't even prescribe me birth control pills, she sent me to a gynecologist even for such a simple request. I've told her since the first time that I saw her that I have intractable headaches that have been going on for the last 8 months or so. I have a history of a prolactinemia (tumor on the pituitary gland) that can cause headaches, so I had another MRI done, and it came back normal. I am extremely frustrated because she has only suggested that I try an antidepressant or try allergy medication - I've tried allergy medication with no relief. I am not depressed. She more or less tried to convince me that I am depressed which I found extremely insulting. I work in psych and I am 2/3 of the way through a doctorate program in psychiatric nursing (she knows this), I have a very thorough understanding of depression. She has written me a referral for a neurologist because I said that I wanted a second opinion, but all neurologists in the area are scheduling at least a couple months out. I called the office today because I am on the third day of a headache that won't quit, and I have to go back to work. I have not asked for any medication nor wanted to be on any medication, but it's getting difficult to function. I am not asking for narcotics or anything too strong, just something that will take the edge off enough for me to function. There are multiple headache/migraine medications that are not narcotics and have no abuse potential. I explained that if she can't help that I will likely have to go to an urgent care - which defeats the purpose of having a PCP. The office called me back and said that I will have to be seen again - even though she saw me a week or two ago, and nothing has changed since then. I work full time and am a full time graduate student - not to mention the fact that with my new insurance, I pay over $100 out of pocket for each visit since I've not yet met my deductible. I am trying to make my health a priority, but I can not just clear my schedule and come to the office, especially when the last couple visits have gotten me nowhere. Overall, I am very disappointed both by her lack of caring and her lack of knowledge and insight. I am not going to continue wasting my time with this provider who has done absolutely nothing for me except send me off to specialists - it could always be worse, but I figured I would share my experience in case anyone else was considering giving it a shot with a young PA - I strongly recommend going elsewhere. read more
