This doctor failed to diagnose a condition that should have been easy to figure out. After having sinus surgery, my breathing became much worse. It felt like less air was coming though my nose. I told Dr. Branch that I'd had surgery to fix a deviated septum from Dr. Lawrence Weprin, a dinosaur who is almost 80 years old and Baylor still allows him to do surgery. Branch is also with Baylor. He said he could not figure out what the problem was and sent me to see another ENT who was also with Baylor. That doctor, Dr. Amol Bhatki, also told me he could not figure out what was going on. In his defense, Dr. Bhatki was honest enough to tell me I had vasomotor rhinitis and that I didn't need the surgery I'd had. When my insurance changed I had to see a doctor outside of the Baylor network. That doctor told me I had nasal valve collapse because Dr. Weprin removed too much septal tissue during the operation. He also said the other doctors should have easily been able to figure that out from examining my nose and considering the fact that I had recently had septal surgery and the fact that I had a very soft nose, which are more susceptible to nasal valve collapse after septal surgery. I would hate to think a doctor would be evasive to protect a fellow doctor from the same hospital. But it's hard to believe a doctor who has almost 20 years of experience dealing with sinus conditions could not see nasal valve collapse with the information he had been given. He also did not tell me about the huge hole I now have in my nose thanks to Weprin's ancient hands---a hole that EVERY other ent has mentioned since I got away from Baylor. Baylor has been warned about Weprin but they do nothing. He has injured at least 4 other people I know of since he mutilated me. read more
