I saw Dr. Bramwell 20 years ago for my knee, and it's never been the same. Dr. Bramwell was given specific instructions that if my knee needed minor clean-up, to go ahead and snip off any torn cartilage. However, if it was anything more extensive, he was instructed to leave it alone for the time being, as I was going to be traveling out of town on business in the next couple of weeks and would need to be schlepping my briefcases, and I didn't want to be hobbled. Suffice it to say that Dr. Bramwell went well beyond my instruction, actually making my knee worse, and, as previously indicated, it has never been the same.
I actually went in for preventive maintenance, as perhaps once a year for two or three years running, I would injure it. When it was injured, it would get very swollen, but after 2-3 weeks of recovery it would be back to normal. I didn't want to endure that experience going forward, so I went to Dr. Bramwell to see what my options were. It turned out that I had chondromalacia, and without permission, Dr. Bramwell chose to not only sand away some of my cartilage, but he drilled into the bone to promote bleeding, in hopes of the dried blood forming a scab to take the place of the missing cartilage. All done without my permission, mind you!!
I'm no doctor, but if that was an attempt to form a scab, I would think the blood would need to dry, and allowing me to walk out of the surgery center (albeit on crutches) with no cast or splint to immobilize the knee makes absolutely no sense at all.
I can't help but believe that Dr. Bramwell intentionally performed said operation against my will for ulterior motives. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Bramwell to anyone. Beware!!! read more
