As well as the usual range of pharmaceuticals and nail clippers, you'll also find: an opticians, a food section, a skincare advisor, a suncare advisor, an instant photo booth, a photo development lab, a body mass index machine, a chlamydia screening service, cervical cancer vaccinations, flu vaccinations, a dermo-analyser unit, a hair retention programme and a full holiday section, complete with sunscreen, swimwear, sunglasses, hats - and most importantly - those tiny travel-sized versions of your favourite wash stuff, so that you don't have to lug that massive bottle of head and shoulders you keep in the bathroom all the way to Timbuktu. Phew!

Ever since Boots introduced its lunchtime meal deal I have been a real regular customer (and I…read moredon't mean in the bowel department! Guffaw guffaw!) The £2.99 deal which gets you a sandwich, drink and snack. If you play it right you can get more than a fivers worth of food and drink for less than £3. The savings soon mount up. If you want to do this go for the special edition sandwiches and wraps, an innocent smoothie and a packet of mentos chewing gum. Yum Me. The other great thing about Boots is the advantage points system and the vouchers you often get for money off cosmetics and hair products. This Boots is also going a little more upmarket with department store type make up counters, Benefit, Max Factor and the high end Boots own brand cosmetic range, No.7 but for the more price conscious folk there's always the lower end No.17 and good ole Collection 2000.

What a friendly place! I'm fortunate enough to have normal eyes that work properly, but my wife…read moredoesn't which means a couple of weeks ago I was dragged here on a Saturday morning with a hangover to help her choose some new bins. Unfortunately when we arrived, the window to this shop had been smashed in, as it transpired some drunken idiot had been on some repressed rampage the night before. The assistant tried to turn us away (reasonably enough as there was a massive pile of glass sitting on the floor) but her helpful nature got in the way and she allowed us to come in "for a minute" which quickly stretched to 15. She then let every single person who arrived in that time in too. And she even bought my story when I told her I definitely hadn't been responsible for the drunken vandalism the night before in an attempt to avoid a Saturday morning trip to the opticians.

He visits this place on a monthly basis, where he's treated like a veritable king (well his eyes are anyway!) The big chain opticians should be worried - Lynne Fernandes have the expertise, price, care and NHS approval - plus perfectly located near the Bath road for all glasses-wearing south Bristol residents. Make it your mantra: 'Stay local!'

I have never been to another Vision Express so I don't know what kind of service to expect but I…read morewanted to make a special mention of this branch. I got my eyes tested here about five years ago, got my new pair of glasses and have sat on them at regular intervals over the past five years. Every time I have taken the squashed and broken glasses back to them they have repaired them with no questions asked and no hassle; Just polite friendly service. They might not be the cheapest in town, with all of the people handing out discount flyers for other chains in this city, but I will certainly be getting my glasses from here in the future. They have recently had a makeover and are looking very slick indeed; they even offered to photograph my eyeballs (?) so I could see behind them. Definitely a Facebook profile photo if I ever take them up on their kind offer.

Came in for a refund but they refused as, again, the record of me buying them could not be found. Absolutely furious and disgusted. You'll be better off with the £1 primark glasses than anything from this place, they last significantly longer and less chance of getting completely scammed through utter incompetence.
