From breakfast sandwiches to subs for lunch, 100/10 every time. The store itself is really cute and inviting. For the outdoors enthusiast, Crossroads is the place to go in the area. Large selection of hunting,…read morefishing, hiking, and camping equipment. I was very happy to see a section in the fishing area devoted to Hinckley spoons, including the renowned 88's which, to me, are the best lures for attracting lake trout. Crossroads also sells live bait. Their worms have more squirm, and their shiners are finer. Prices reasonable. A smallish breakfast area, but their sandwiches are eggggcellent. Even gas prices, considering Crossroads is a bit off the beaten path, are comparable to the Stewart's on rte 8. And my friend, Locomotive Breath, who never passes up an opportunity to patronize a bathroom, says the men's room is clean and the "bathroom tissue" (toilet paper) is 2-ply! We always visit Crossroads when in the area. Highly recommend! 5 stars!

They were responsive to all of our requests, provided clear contracts, and were flexible with timing. They conducted a three day sale that drew high traffic to a rural home that not only provided a good return but also ensured our belongings went to a good home. Dean was prompt to clean the property and pay out. Lastly and maybe most importantly, this was a tough move for my family and Dean was empathetic and compassionate at every step, a class act. Note: Wine tasting cost is per person (not pay for 1 person and share) and it is for 7 tastes with a take home glass. So select your wines wisely... and rank them to see if there is any of them you would like to purchase. We also added a couple of chocolate bonbons to wash the the wine tastings down with. Tried a variety of red, rose, fruit, dry.... and ended up purchasing 2 bottles to bring home - Celebratory Red and Ruby Red, which we rated best of all the ones we tastes. It did take awhile to select and get our tastings but have to be a little patience given timing and the crowd. Looking to come back again next time in town. Cheers!

I bought a wooden Adirondack chair from this shop and within three years of gent use and care, one…read moreday out of the blue one leg collapsed into soft powdery chips. After examining the chair I found out that the wood has a knot inside that was not properly treated and likely was rotting when the chair was made. That rot spread and over time destroyed two pieces of wood, including this leg, from the inside. I contacted Elizabeth at the shop, offered to drive the chair to her shop and pay for reasonable expenses - only asking her to coordinate a repair. Yet Elizabeth replied to say that the chairs were sourced from a non-professional artist; and that partly because this artist uses pine wood which is not best fit for outdoor furniture she is no longer buying from this artist. As to why she sourced the pine chair from the artist in the first place, Elizabeth said that she was still learning about wood back then - yet she still washes her hands clean of any responsibility to help me save the chair. Furthermore, she repeatedly suggested that I somehow did not care for the chair properly despite the fact that the rot was inside the wood, inside the paint - the layers of paint the store sold me on as weather proof. When I finally reached the maker of the chair, they replied that they were making the chairs as a hobby and believe that a knot rotting inside at the time of making is not detectable and thus selling a chair with a rotting knot covered up with paint is somehow acceptable. They did explain Elizabeth's sourcing process - the makers went into Elizabeth's store while vacationing and showed Elizabeth photos of the chairs they made as a hobby - and Elizabeth bought them for resale! No quality check, no standard. Even after the makers admitted the rot was likely already there when they made the chair, Elizabeth insisted that this chair, rotten and collapsing within three years, was at its "natural life span" - what a scam! I do NOT recommend this shop and I would urge all existing customers to reach out to Elizabeth to ask about her sourcing process and quality control approach. As for me - I am now determined to hold Elizabeth accountable through all avenues - regulatory and litigative. Seeing a chair my family adored collapsing is painful and Elizabeth so far only added to that pain, not what I would have expected.

The water was a bit calm but there were a few parts that were crazy. I was in the back of the raft with our guide so that made me feel a bit safer (I'm adventurous but this definitely had my heart racing as a newbie). My fiancé and friends (they've gone white water rafting before) thought the water was too calm and mentioned coming back when the snow is melting and there are more white caps. Our guide was fun and was trying to get us to "surf" our raft next to a rock which was cool. He also jokingly led us into a rock and I flew forward (luckily he caught me before I went too far ha). When you do go, they provide all of the gear you need and more. Buses take you to and from the river. You will also have to help lift the raft to the water with your group (I ended up slipping and falling on the rocks going down to the river so that was "fun", there are snacks/lunch provided when there's a break in between rafting. Towards the end, it was so calm, we had to row for a good mile or two to get us back. When you get back, dinner is provided and it was delicious! I had a fun time and I do want to come back when the water is choppier. Summer was a good choice for a first timer. All in all, I loved this company and our guide (I want to say his name was Buzz).
