The water was a bit calm but there were a few parts that were crazy. I was in the back of the raft with our guide so that made me feel a bit safer (I'm adventurous but this definitely had my heart racing as a newbie). My fiancé and friends (they've gone white water rafting before) thought the water was too calm and mentioned coming back when the snow is melting and there are more white caps. Our guide was fun and was trying to get us to "surf" our raft next to a rock which was cool. He also jokingly led us into a rock and I flew forward (luckily he caught me before I went too far ha). When you do go, they provide all of the gear you need and more. Buses take you to and from the river. You will also have to help lift the raft to the water with your group (I ended up slipping and falling on the rocks going down to the river so that was "fun", there are snacks/lunch provided when there's a break in between rafting. Towards the end, it was so calm, we had to row for a good mile or two to get us back. When you get back, dinner is provided and it was delicious! I had a fun time and I do want to come back when the water is choppier. Summer was a good choice for a first timer. All in all, I loved this company and our guide (I want to say his name was Buzz). Thanks for the new experience!!

Staff was super friendly and you could tell that they loved their job. Our ride down the river was truly a lazy one and sometimes we had to push ourselves along because the current was so slow but we never felt in danger. Definitely wear sunscreen and I would recommend bringing bug spray too. We got bit by black flies a few times and they hurt!! Also heads up, the tubing spot only has one portapotty, so plan accordingly.

Tell him what you want to catch and he'll sell you the lures, rigs and/or bait to do so and point you to where to find the fish you're targeting. I've made it a habit to visit Gary's shop upon arrival to Lake George and asking him "what's biting and will you sell me what I need to target them?". Last year it resulted in me catching a beautiful (and delicious) landlocked salmon. This year I targeted small mouth bass and had a great time catching plenty of them. I was very happy to see a section in the fishing area devoted to Hinckley spoons, including the renowned 88's which, to me, are the best lures for attracting lake trout. Crossroads also sells live bait. Their worms have more squirm, and their shiners are finer. Prices reasonable. A smallish breakfast area, but their sandwiches are eggggcellent. Even gas prices, considering Crossroads is a bit off the beaten path, are comparable to the Stewart's on rte 8. And my friend, Locomotive Breath, who never passes up an opportunity to patronize a bathroom, says the men's room is clean and the "bathroom tissue" (toilet paper) is 2-ply! We always visit Crossroads when in the area. Highly recommend! 5 stars!

Three years ago I purchased a 22" long engraved Lake George image on a 34" slab of spalted maple…read more Other pieces had a glossy finish that I preferred so I asked them to add the epoxy to my piece. They were concerned that it would bleed into the soft wood and I assured them I would still love it. It came out perfect. Over the years I've enjoyed the piece and the place I chose to hang it until one day back in January I decided I wanted a larger version. I emailed them a picture of the current piece asking them if they could do the same on a larger scale to take up the entire wall. After many weeks they found a 101" spalted oak slab and sent me images along with a detailed description of the wood's unique characteristics. We chose a 36" engraved lake image strategically placed at eye level once hung. I was sent digital images of how the final piece would look once engraved. 8 days following agreement to proceed, the piece arrived perfectly packaged in a very professional, custom made crate including custom cut styrofoam and wrap. It was super easy to extract the piece from the crate (just needed a screw driver to unscrew the screws). And when I did, I gasped with joy as it was so impressive looking laying protected in it's cushioned bed. I've decided to save the crate parts (2x4 wood, plywood, and styrofoam) for scrap projects at the house since the pieces are in perfect condition. They attached a french cleat hanger (very stylish and functional) with instructions on how to hang it. In less than 10 minutes I had it on my wall. WOW! I immediately sent them pictures with the message, "I could not have received a better representation of the vision I had in my mind when I embarked on this quest. It is perfect!" Adirondack Live Edge are professionals. They were attentive to details, continually communicated with me throughout the idea and design process, and went above and beyond in the successful creation of my piece. I highly recommend them for any of your live edge wood projects, big or small. Thanks again Justin and team. It is BEAUTIFUL!
