The good news is that the staff was very nice, friendly and easy to work with; there's a comfortable waiting area, and the work was completed when promised. My wife has used them for periodic oil changes with no problem, and I've used them for other work in the past, usually satisfied. The less good) news is that there was a bit of upsell pressure for optional $200+ fuel injector service (not a terrible thing; we're capitalists after all), and their overall prices were significantly higher than my alternative well-established repair shop 15 minutes away in Marble Falls. (I didn't know that at the time, and went to Grease Monkey for convenience.) The cost was still far less than what a Toyota dealer would have charged, and they upsell too! A couple of examples: The charge for changing the transmission fluid, including the fluid itself, was $512 (including tax). In Marble Falls the total would have been in the high $300s, including their most expensive fluid. Grease Monkey told me that my tires were badly worn and cupping, with a fairly fresh cut in one that exposed the steel belt. See photo they sent.) I don't recall hitting anything that would have cut a premium tire that badly, but it was an important safety inspection find. They strongly recommended (and I agree) replacing the front two for just under $440 per tire (same premium tire, installed, including tax), and recommended a road hazard guarantee for an additional 17%, which would have brought the total to about $500 per tire. (Every tire I've ever bought comes with a road hazard guarantee included, but theirs might have been a little more comprehensive.) I declined. The cost of exactly the same tire from the Marble Falls shop (installed, including tax) is just under $331 per tire (without the road hazard upsell). Interesting side note: There was a very cool unfinished 1941Chevy pickup hot rod in the storage yard, and I think I saw classic Chrysler Imperial tailfins sticking out farther down the row.

Then he explained why it was happening and how to keep it from happening again. I asked how much do I owe him and he said nothing. My mouth dropped. All that for just some good will? Wow. I remember people used to do that years ago, but who does that now? Apparently this business does. I was so impressed that I started to ask about a couple other things I'd like to get done to the van, but he said they were booked out 'til August (It's mid-June now), so I'll get the pressing things done now and save the others to contact them later this year or early next when I have time to deal with it again. Ryan installed a rack and pinion in my car without making sure it was set to zero and then sent me…read moreto go get an alignment as if an alignment would somehow fix the fact that my steering wheel was upside down and my turn signals no longer worked and the abs and traction lights flashing on the dash would all somehow be fixed with an alignment. he blindsided me and overcharged me and he lied about his mistakes to try and cover it up. he promised me a 1 year warranty AND then blocked me after his second attempt to fix my car failed. he spent 3 more days taking the whole car back apart and putting it back together and admitted to needing to replace my steering shaft due to having to damage it to remove it and then I found out later he actually just put the old one back in. a lot of the parts he charged me brand new prices for were actually rusty okd and used. he also mismatched my cars trim and installed components that aren't even compatible with my car. he lied about absolutely everything that he ever said to me from the moment I met him until the day he blocked me and kept my money and breached our contract. I still continue to find more proof of more lies. he even said at one point that he "didnt have a woman in is life" and to please excuse the mess in his car for that reason while giving me a ride home and then later on he must have forgotten which version of the narrative he was going with because he casually referred to "spending time eith his girlfriend" in some other conversation just 2 days later. how do you go from "not having a woman in your life" to "spending time with my girlfriend" two days later?? like I dont even give a shit about his personal life or what the true story is im just saying...you can tell when a person lies so casually and frequently that they dont even notice they just made a massive plot hole in their own front facing persona and narrative. he couldnt keep a single story straight about my car or even his own basic autobiographical details...he also like owes me a bunch of money still and fucked my car up. he treated it like it was the wrong trim package and literally installed incorrect non interchangeable parts. and now he is evading me and hiding and told me not to return to the property when I literally haven't even tried to return to the property/ have a "1 year warranty" in writing....such a crazy bad experience, dude is such a liar and not one truth passed his lips. still finding new issues with my car a month later. have more issues than I ever had before him. check out my google review for proof if thats still up.
