I had another shop tell me -unsolicited- that I needed a brake job. I'm nearing 60000 miles and figured that some basic brake maintenance might be warranted, but hadn't noticed any issue. So, I went to Brake Works and they did a real evaluation and said, "Your brakes are fine." Wait? What? Realistically, they could have recommended a number of levels of repair and I would have agreed because...well, I want my brakes to work without worry and I have the auto mechanic skills of a substitute host of The View. Additionally, I had a hanging under carriage felt piece which I'm guessing is required for sound proofing or governmental overreach that has fallen off in chunks from speed bumps, steep driveway grades, or some form of auto part rapture, which I asked them to disentangle and remove.. They did so with a silent knowing recognition to the idiocy of the design. But here's the thing. They refused payment. No charge for anything, despite my protestations. So in summary, I went to a car shop asking for and ready to pay for services and the shop said, "No charges, come back to us in the future when you really need work." Damn skippy, I will. I'd been having issues with my brakes squeaking for the better part of a year, so finally lost my patience and brought my "Roxy" to this shop. They were able to work on my ride almost right away, so I left for 2 to 3 hours while they took care of my baby. Before I left I had brought in my own brakes ordered off Amazon. The owner (Ray?) hadn't heard of the brand and advised that if he installed the brakes I purchased their store warranty couldn't be applied. The price difference between using my pads without the warranty and using their pads with the warranty was less than $100, so it made sense to just use their pads. The brake pad service included brake pad replacement (front and rear), rotor polish/renewal, and the warranty. The total cost of the new pads was $339; with labor and tax the grand total was $470. I'm not a car guy so can't tell you if this was a good deal, but it sounded pretty fair to me. More than a month later, I'm driving around with no squeaking, which makes my drives much less annoying. (lol.) The staff was knowledgeable and easy to work with, with good customer service. I definitely recommend this place and its pros the next time you need your brakes worked on. read more

I had to write this review! What great customer service! I cam in because my emergency brake failed it's yearly check to keep my car licensed and I had called around. They said come in and we'll look at it and tell you how much it will be to fix it. They did a free exam and were honest on what needed to be fixed. They did find a couple of other issues but told me I could wait to get them fixed, and if they would maybe cause other damage in the future. Their price for the needed repair was $50 cheaper than other shops. They have a military discount. And I saw them help another customer and told her that the couple of little things they found were fixed and they weren't charging her. Very kind men! read more

About 2 months ago, about 1200 miles back. I had a sound coming from my F/R. Brought it to BWs. They said, looks good for another 20-20,500 miles. My F/R is now grinding when I step on the break. Do the math! Beware of these guys. When I picked up my truck they didn't charge me and now Im kicking myself in the ass for tipping them $20 for their speedy service which didn't ever occurred on my vehicle. Once again the staff at Brake Works exceeded my expectations! Turned out my battery was bad and wouldn't hold a charge and Eddie refused to charge me for their services! Who does that nowadays? I had my battery tested a few days prior where I purchased it and told it was fine and so was my alternator. Brake Works replaced my starter previously so I was puzzled why my battery was draining. Amazing service. I was on a road trip and leaking break fluid. They offer a free break inspection. They are honest and professional..they even let me into the shop to see the break line that was leaking. The guys did the job- it took a whole day but they only charged me for 4 hours of labor. The other day, I took my car here to get multiple things worked on. I've been going to different places over the last couple of years because I just couldn't ever find somewhere where the technician fixed what actually needed to be done. Squeaking brakes brought me in to Brake Works. While there, I saw that they also offered shock repair/replacement and thought why not get them to troubleshoot the whooshing sound I'd been hearing on the right front whenever hitting a dip or pothole. Three hours later I got the call that my car was ready, and, to my delight, no new brakes or shocks were needed. Apparently the squeaking was merely an annoyance that was not due to needing new brake pads or rotors. The whooshing was due to part of the plastic undercarriage being loose and brushing the road whenever i hit a dip or pothole. They secured it. I needed no new parts costing hundreds of dollars. What? when does that ever happen when you take a vehicle in for service? I was overjoyed as I pulled out my wallet and asked how much I owed. Eddie said, "You don't owe us anything." I was flabbergasted! They had inspected my vehicle for brakes and shocks, found I didn't need either, secured a loose part, and charged me NADA! Obviously, I cannot recommend them more highly. My GMC Sierra would vibrate while braking when backing up. Found these guys on yelp by the reviews they were getting so I chose them to check out what the cause was. They were able to get to it immediately and walked me through everything they found along with measurements of pads and rotors. Informed me of fluid levels which were good and any leakage signs, which were none. They did not try to push any work to be done but left all decisions to me. Back brakes were making noise. Found this place online and decided to give them a try. They explained everything that needed done and quoted me a fair price. I mentioned a coupon I seen online but forgot to bring, and they gave me the discount anyway. I am wary of repair shops and inflating repairs needed and prices. This place did neither. Ray G. (man behind the counter) even engaged me in some very nice conversation while I waited. They offered me a ride home/back but I decided to wait. I went across the street for breakfast, then came back and played a few games on my phone till it was done. The auto parts store gave them the wrong price of the brake caliper's I needed. They gave them a price for the front, but I actually needed the back ones which were $120 more. Rather than them trying to get more money out of me or apologizing for the mistake, Ray honored the price initially quoted. I recently moved here from Pittsburgh Pa, and I can assure you I never heard of this place before today, but will absolutely be using them again in the future.
