I bought a new set of tires from the Hillsboro American Tire in October 2023. Since then I've had…read moretwo leaky/flat tires. Both times Hillsboro American Tire took care of the problem tires. The second time, though, they really went above and beyond. The second flat tire was from sidewall damage, so the nearly new tire was shot. Unfortunately the Hillsboro store did not have the exact replacement in stock, they would have to ship it in from another location and it wouldn't be there until the next day. This is where the Hillsboro American Tire really stepped up. Not only did they order the new tire and set me up with an appointment for the next day to have it installed, they also loaned me a tire to use for a day until the new one arrived so I wouldn't have to drive around on quickly leaking tire. The next day when I arrived I only had to pay a small fee for the new tire (mileage prorate on the damaged tire reduced the sell price) AND they did not charge me for the multiple mount/balances of the loaner, and new tires. I've never received such amazing service like that from the other local big store (Les Schwab) and I've ran into problems with Costco not honoring their service warranty. I would recommend the Hillsboro American Tire to anyone!

I listened in as the attendant was working with the previous client, when it comes to a woman going into a maintenance shop there is that stigma with women and car shops. I'm always on alert when I'm at a car shop because mechanics have been known to overcharge women. When it was my turn I had said i was there for my appointment, but the massive American flag outside is what made me ask this question. I had asked if this was a locally owned shop which they agreed but I asked what their stance is on the climate of the country and they said they all have different stances. As a veteran who served this country I don't feel comfortable giving my money, my car or the belongings in my car to this shop. Or leaving my car unattended with them. I stated this, and this attendant started telling me about this and that. I don't care. I care about my community, and if my money is going to the right places. Came in for a new transmission, broken AC and a leaking tire. Was told it would be a week, which sounds good as that was every time line we were told from other places we called. A week goes by and the parts still weren't in, again I mean that's just shipping and it happens, can't really blame the shop. After a week and a half they install the new transmission, but said there was something wrong so they kept working on it. Another week goes by and they say they need to order ANOTHER trans. At this point we are very frustrated as we needed this vehicle back 3 weeks ago. But I mean who knows what is really going on so we just hang tight. Finally, a MONTH later, we get a text that the trans was replaced and good to go but they didn't have time to fully fix the ac. Didn't have time? You had it for a month and decided until the last day to look at the AC. They replaced the blower motor but said they would have to take the whole thing out and didn't have time for it, so it was ultimately a temporary fix for a full charge. After asking for a price break down he gave us $150 off. Woopie after a $7,500 ordeal that didn't feel sufficient. They then charged our card for the second half of our bill after we explicitly said "we do not authorize this charge" and we also don't remember saying they could save the card on file..... if that wasn't all enough to make us never come back we then find out the tire was never fixed after it went flat on the road a few days later. To which the guy says "looks like I forgot" !!! Now the AC stopped working because again it was never actually fixed in the first place. Truly unacceptable from start to finish. They clearly do not care about doing a good job and just want your money. He asked us multiple times to pay the remaining balance before we even picked up the vehicle or had any work done. DO NOT trust nor do business with this company. I knew I was buying a salvage vehicle and…read moreunderstood the inherent risks that go with buying one. But, I had an independent mechanic conduct a pre-purchase inspection and also purchased a five year extended warranty. The mechanic found no major issues, so I felt comfortable buying it. I made the trip from Chico California to Portland by Amtrak (14 plus hours) so that I could see and drive it for myself. Unfortunately, in the 20-25 minutes it took the Uber driver to go from Amtrak to their office, upon walking into the lot saw a major dent on the driver side door. The salesperson stayed a parking lot attendant had hit the vehicle causing significant damage to the door and panel to the right of the door. I would have had a body shop give an estimate but it was after 5 pm on a Friday (March 24, 2023) by the time I got to the dealership and the salesperson assured me there was no structural damage. There was no reasonable way to stay Friday, Sat and Sunday to get a quote(s) from at least one or two body shops that Monday. The owner indicated it would only cost them $1000 to fix it and they'd ship it to me. Not wanting to trust their work I requested they agree to pay the cost based on at least three quotes in Chico. They said no and settled on only covering me for $2500. I should've known better but was exhausted and didn't want to take a train back. It was exceedingly bad decision to acquiesce and am now stuck with this problem. I got completely ripped off because the damage to the vehicle that they did, supposedly in the 20 minute ride from Amtrak. For all I know is the damage happened days before I left Chico and they knew if I got there after traveling such a long distance I'd be less likely to walk away. Now I'm looking at least spending another $6000 to repair the damage because of structural damage to the driver side door post, having to replace the driver side door with a new down, and damage further down. I would never recommend this company as they clearly knew this vehicle had more substantial damage than what they indicated. Making it more skeevy was the salesperson telling me they would be fixing it in house & would only cost the owner $1000 to make the repairs. In retrospect, it tells me they're either ignorant, incompetent or outright deceptive. Let my crappy decision serve as a warning that you will likely get ripped off. Do not use this company because the salespeople and owner are unscrupulous. If I could give less than a one star I would.

Just when I thought customer service was lacking, she was great and got my car back the next day and ended up being lower priced then originally quoted.
