*****ATTENTION*****Please read my story. Worst experience in my life and ended with $15,000 in damages to my car.
I took my car in on the 12/8/16 to just have my brakes done and an oil change. When I had taken my car, they test drove and diagnosed it and said my car was running great and that they had found no problems other than the brakes. Deb the manager said it would only take about two hours to have all the work done. I ended up leaving their shop 8 hours later.. They obviously didn't know what they were doing with my car. At one point when they thought they were done, they reversed my car out of their shop with my rear brakes engaged. They had no idea why they were still locked and drove it back in. After re-bleeding my brakes 3 times and resetting my car by disconnecting my battery, the rear brakes finally disengaged. They at that point said not to worry about my dash boar that there would be some lights on, and that after turning on and off the car and driving it; they would go away. when I got in the car it looked like a Christmas tree all lit up. My check engine light was on, all the brake lights were on, and there was a huge exclamation point also on, saying my rear brakes were engaged even though they weren't.
I drove the car feeling already weird from their store in Vancouver to Oregon city. The next day being the snow day, I went out to do a couple errands. The car as I put it into gear would take a long time before engaging. Also it was driving very sluggish. I remember what they had said, and thought I would only need to turn the car on and off to have it drive right again a couple times. As I was driving my car home from 99 to Oregon city again, it started wobbling. I had thought I had got a flat tire. As I pulled over to check my tire I came to realize that my rear tire was almost off the car! 4 out of the 5 bolts that hold it had fallen out! Brake Team had forgotten to tighten my tire! As I called them and a tow truck, it took them 4 hours to come out and check what they had done. They brought some bolts to put the tire back on. They even told me it would be ok to drive my car home. I decided to have it towed and also have another shop take a look at it.
Having a German car, I took it to Stuttgart Auto Tech where they told me the horrifying news. Brake team as they re-set my car from driving it with the rear brakes engaged had put my transmission into lip mode. Meaning that it was in reverse and 3rd gear only. Not only that, the rear brakes were not even braking correctly. My actuator motors had been burnt and my control module that engages my brakes also was toast. They had broken the tabs and some wires where the brakes are, causing the malfunction in the sensors. At this point I decided to also take it to Audi to have it evaluated. They said exactly the same thing. Not only that, they also said the computers actually recorded the day all the problems stared on the car, which was the 12/8/16 the day I had taken it in to brake team. To have my car fixed, it will be $15,600 to have it to where it was before taking it into them. not to mention the diagnosis I have had to pay and towing fees. also not having to be able to use my car now for 2 months.
I have spoken to both Deb the manager at Vancouver and the C.E.O. Patrick Walby which have done nothing to resolve a single thing. this is a to be continued story to see what actions they will take to have it resolved. I am giving them the opportunity to do the correct thing before taking further action. I just want my car back.. read more
