Found out I was being charged for a service I wasn't receiving. Received rude and aggressive emails when I queried this. Suddenly was forced to pay up front because I was "receiving a service throughout the year". Requested advice on several occasions. No reply. No acknowledgement. No advice. Big phone bill due to repeated calls to HMRC to get advice I was paying Callan to give. Sent info for company return 2015-16 in May 2016. Had discussions with Callan in June to refine detail. Contacted Callan many times throughout December expressing concern about not having received accounts for filing. Finally received a holding response on January 9th. One day before the deadline, Stephen provides the information and tells me it was done in September. The take away message is: STEER CLEAR or risk your sanity. I wandered into this (very warm it has to be said) bank one late afternoon, with a vague idea of picking up some information about bank accounts. I'd gone into the nameless bank a few doors up just before this - wanting to talk to someone about opening an account - and has left sorely disappointed with the service I received. This was not the case in this Santander branch, though. Within about three minutes of walking in the door I was sat down in a booth with a knowledgeable lady offering me chocolates. She answered all my questions and filled in an application form for me all in about twenty minutes. Perfect.
