I was really struggling with depression and anxiety, even after trying all sorts of antidepressants over the years. Nothing seemed to work, and I was at a pretty low point, especially after job issues and a rough few years. Then I found out about TMS and decided to try it at the Brain Wellness Center in San Ramon, CA. Honestly, it's surprising how few people know about this treatment. I had around 40 sessions. The doctors, especially Dr. Hashemian, were hands-on with the treatment, checking in every week and adjusting things as needed. They were really friendly and made me feel at ease from the start. The staff was great too - I actually miss seeing them now. I did about 35 sessions covered by insurance over 12 weeks, going almost every weekday. My treatment plan changed a couple of times, focusing more on anxiety or depression as needed. Near the end of my sessions, Dr. Hashemian even offered extra sessions for free to make sure I got the full benefit. I'm amazed at how much better I feel after TMS. I'm enjoying life, my family, and everything feels so much better now. My relationship with my husband has improved a lot too. Before TMS, I was pretty close to giving up, but now I'm so glad to be here. This treatment was the best thing I've tried for my depression and anxiety. I was recommended to this clinic by a new psychiatrist I worked with while dealing with the worst depressive episode that lasted more than four months & continued to come back every couple of weeks. After 20+ years of dealing with major depressive order & persistent depressive disorder PDD (a low grade depression with persistent sense of sadness & hopelessness I felt every day) & trying every medication on the market, she recommended trying TMS since medication had never worked. And I can honestly say it saved my life. I was overseen by two remarkable & highly qualified doctors; Dr Hashemian & Dr. Krompier who explained the science behind the treatments in a way I could understand & they checked in on me every week so I felt completely taken care of.. I came to the Brain Wellness Center in a very dark place, with my anxiety at an all-time high. Initially, I was skeptical about not needing medication to feel better, but this treatment has truly worked for me. I'll admit that by my 18th session, I still hadn't noticed any significant changes. However, after finishing my 23rd session, something shifted. The next day, dare I say it, was actually *good*! Slowly but surely, I started feeling happier and more social again. Now, I feel like I'm back to my old self, and I'm incredibly grateful to Dr. Hashemian and Dr. Palmer. They were fantastic--offering support, encouragement, and insightful that helped me along the way. The entire staff is amazing, but I especially want to shout out Dezi. She was the best! A bit about me: I've survived two types of cancer, learned to walk again after being paralyzed, and live with gastroparesis. My daughter was diagnosed with attention deficit, and doctors tried her on several different stimulant medications. She developed twitching and tics and had a hard time falling asleep and was more anxious without any improvement in her attention. In desperation, I searched the Internet and came across the Brain Wellness Center. I was not particularly impressed when Dr. Ali suggested her symptoms did not seem to fit ADHD and recommended doing a brain map to measure her brain activity and her ability to pay attention. Brain map showed she had no attention problem but she had auditory processing issues, which have made her look like having attentional problems. This was very strange because nobody, including her doctor or psychiatrist, had mentioned anything about auditory processing, and she was not hard of hearing. Anyway, Long story short, after doing about 3 months of auditory training, her attention symptoms improved, her teachers mentioned whatever medication she was on seemed to be working! Of course, she was not taking any medications. Her reading comprehension also improved. That was almost 2 years ago and things are still good. I wish that our insurance plan we pay so much premium every month would have covered her treatment and that the treatment was not so expensive but in the end money well spent. read more

I love this place. Anyone thinking about doing TMS 1000% should, you have nothing to lose, and will lose nothing, but you will gain. Is it a magic cure? No. But it works, it helps. The decrease in my anxiety and depression is felt every single day and I've been able to breath a sigh of relief for the first time in many years. I'm floored that so few know about TMS when it actually does work. Again, it's not a fix all. My depression and anxiety are not gone, but the intensity of my symptoms is so greatly decreased, this is the most "normal" I've felt in almost 13 years. I had such a great experience with neurofeedback for insomnia. Within 5-6 sessions I was falling asleep easily and getting restful sleep after a car accident and other trauma. These sessions along with time released melatonin have been a prayer answered. I can't thank Dr. Ali and the staff enough. I highly recommend neurofeedback for sleep improvement.
