She is the most organized person I have ever encountered and it shows with the ease in which the event went off. There were multiple rooms set up for food, cake, beverages. The catering was outstanding. The bride and groom do not live in Mobile so a great deal of the planning was done over the phone. You can trust them to take care of every detail. The Ezell House is historic and shows the grace and charm of an earlier era.

Her dreams and expectations were exceeded in every possible way. My daughter and my son in law got engaged two years ago, they both live in Jacksonville, Florida. Since both families live in Baldwin County, they decided to have their wedding here. When we started looking for a venue, we were having a challenging time looking for the perfect place and a reasonable price. Until one day my co-worker told me she went to a wedding at Waters Edge, I right away went online and checked them. I decided to call and make an appointment. We met with Anita, she showed us around the place, and it was perfect they have a gorgeous establishment, covered pavilion with a fireplace for an outside ceremony and on the walkway to the pavilion there is an iron arbor that can be decorated on the day of the event. The property was big enough that you can choose anywhere on the property to have your ceremony. We then went to the reception area (barn) the place was very accommodating with lots of room and a nice bar. It has a rustic look with lots of old memorabilia. We sat with Anita, and we talked about everything that we needed to know. She was very knowledgeable and experienced with events. We discussed our options as a family, and we decided to go with Waters Edge. As the mother of bride, I had so much on my mind and worried about everything after talking with Anita, she made me feel at ease and assured me that she would help us give our daughter an elegant and very memorable wedding for our princess. We met every month to discuss our progress towards the event. At every meeting we discussed what needed to get done. Anita made recommendations for us to adjust as time progressed, she kept me and my daughter on our toes. She was very pleasant to work with and accommodating to all our needs. Anita and her team were amazing!! Also want to say thank you to the bartender Rebecca, her staff and our Disc Jockey (Anita's husband) for keeping the drinks and music going and accommodating our family and designated friends with special drink requests!! The tiles, the massive windows, the tub upstairs-- you'll know it when you see it, and the pillars (of course)-- this place oozes southern charm and there's no denying it. On top of all that, the couple that owns it are the nicest people you'll ever meet and they know how to throw a beautiful event. Since my first visit, I've returned for an event and a local maker's market. Both events were well organized and well executed. Even better, the love that's shown here for local entrepreneurs and small businesses is incredible. Needless to say, I'm a fan of The Pillars and hubs better thank his lucky stars we're already married. I'd book an impromptu do-over here in a heartbeat. Don't tempt me!

The large Southern style porch is anchored by gorgeous pillars, hence the name! Be sure to check out the stained glass located throughout the place, both up and downstairs. The big claw foot tubs tempt me to lease out the place for the evening just to enjoy a relaxing soak. (I don't think you can lease it for a bath, but a girl can dream can't she?) Upstairs is a gentlemen's lounge for the groomsmen to hang out in and there is a separate area for the bridal party. The brides room has a huge full length mirror, closets and private bath area. It also features plenty of comfy seating. What a lovely place to get married or host a party. The kitchen is modern and updated, ready for caterers. There are so many interesting rooms to stage various things from live entertainment to food. This one is a true Southern Belle filled with charm and ready to host your major life events. I am looking forward to attending my first Market Day. They are held once a month, on a Sunday and have at least 50 vendors including organic produce, dog treats and crafts.

There is plenty of shade and room for parking. The gazebo and pavilion are perfect for outdoor gatherings. The inside space sits 150 to 175 people comfortably with room for the dance floor. Nicole, the owner, is amazing. She was so helpful from start to finish. She was accommodating, pleasant, and professional. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend this space for any family gathering.

Being from Mobile, I always brag to my California friends that my hometown is also the home of the "original Mardi Gras" festival. They assisted me in locating items within my budget and that I could fit into my carry on. But I'm thinking I may end up making more purchases via their website. Save yourself the stress and book literally anywhere else…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but I truly wish someone had warned us before we booked Luxor Event Center. This was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional venue experiences I've ever had. We had multiple meetings and clearly booked the space for 8:00 PM - 1:00 AM. Everything seemed fine during the sales process. The owner, Margaret, was friendly and said all the right things upfront. Once payment was made, the experience changed completely. When we arrived earlier that day, the venue was not ready at all. Floors were dirty, decorations weren't set up, and nothing had been prepared. Members of our family ended up cleaning, mopping, and setting up the space ourselves for HOURS, tasks we paid the venue to handle. One of us was there from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM just helping get the room ready. Even when guests started arriving, things still weren't finished. Then the biggest issue: Around 11:45 PM, the lights were suddenly turned on and we were told the party had to end early due to "insurance not allowing events past midnight." This had NEVER been disclosed during any meeting or planning conversation. If we had known that, we never would have scheduled or paid for a 1:00 AM end time. So we paid nearly $4,000 for a 5-hour event and didn't even get 4 hours. When we asked questions, the owner became loud and argumentative in front of our guests and told everyone to leave immediately. It was embarrassing and completely unprofessional. We tried to clean and pack up, but we were rushed out and not even given time to properly finish. Later we were accused of not cleaning -- which made no sense because we were told to leave right away. Between: poor preparation lack of organization last-minute rule changes early shutdown and how we were spoken to in front of guests this was extremely disappointing. I helped plan and pay for this event and attended the meetings personally, so this review is based on first-hand experience. There are too many other venues out there to deal with this level of stress. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
