I have contacted SunRain LLC on October 17th, 2013. I spoke with Rod LeQuerica and I've explained…read moreto Rod, that I was looking for a marine electrician, who can convert power boat with the European electrical system to accept US shore power. The proper solution for my boat was to install isolation transformers to adopt 120V 60 Hz US electric power into 240V 60 HZ European electrical system. Rod assured me that he's very familiar with projects for electrical system conversions and he needs to come for initial visit to look at the boat and determine what components are needed and where these components will be located on the boat. Afterwards, Rod promised me to create a detailed proposal for my project and provide me with the cost estimate for the project. Further, upon my approval of the detailed project proposal and the cost estimate for the project, SunRain LLC will perform the job of installing the transformers. Prior to Rod's visit, I have emailed him electronic copy of the manual for isolation transformers I've picked for this project- Charles Industries 93-ISOG2/6-A ISO-Guard 3.8kVA Isolation Transformers. Prior to Rod's visit to examine the boat, he requested me to pay him for 2 hours of service - which included his time to visit the boat and put together detailed proposal for my project and provide me with the cost estimate for the project. The cost for such service was $120.00. I paid SunRain LLC promptly via PayPal and we've scheduled the appointment for 11/21/2013. On the morning of October 21st, Rod showed up and examined my boat. He assured me that there will be no issue to install isolation transformers selected by me and he should have detailed project plan and cost estimate for me in a couple of days. On October 26th, I've received an email from Rod, stating that he found a superior solution to using isolation transformers and that solution will convert not only the voltage, but also frequency. The recommended solution was to use Asea 8 KVa power conversion system at list price of $1800.00. This compared favorably with 2 isolation transformers at the cost of $1300.00. I immediately replied to Rod, stating that proposed solution is clearly superior to my own, however I had concerns over extra weight of the equipment (Asea power management system weighted 235 lb) and converting 2 inlet 30 AMP boat system to 1 inlet 50 AMP system. However, I've asked Rod to provide me with the cost estimate for the entire project, before making a final judgment. Independently, I've contacted ASEA Power Conversion System myself and found out that the list price for 8 KVa system is $17,500.00 and not $1800.00 as Rod stated. I immediately contacted Rod with this information and asked him again to provide me project plan and cost estimate. However, I've not heard from Rod LeQuerica until early November 2013 and only after my repeated phone calls. In his email on Nov 14th 2013, Rod has acknowledged his mistake regarding the price for Asea Power Conversion system and stated that he will provide me with project plan and cost estimate using isolation transformers as I've requested on October 17th. However, I never received any project plan or project cost estimate from SunRain LLC in spite of my repeated phone calls and emails. I'm convinced now, Rod LeQuerica had no prior experience in dealing with marine electric conversion projects and simply didn't know how to plan and/or execute this project. He lied about his core competency and pretended to be knowledgeable in this area. On November 27th I've initiated my dispute with SunRain LLC to recover my $120.00 back. My strong recommendation is for future potential customers - stay away from Rod LeQuerica and SunRain LLC.

They listened by my needs to fullfill my needs on my 22FT Easter. They put down Teak over Black in Teakline pattern on the inner deck of my boat and tuned my 1985 work boat into a really polished looking leisure boat. This product is great for my kids 6 and 9 years old, doesn't stain ( chips and soda... and red wine). Scheduling was easy and quick. From the very beginning--before the sale, through the installation, and now even a year later--they've been consistently responsive, professional, and genuinely committed to making sure everything is perfect. What sets them apart is not just the quality of the product, but the way they stand behind their work. You can tell they stake their reputation on every job, and their word actually means something. That kind of integrity is rare. It's been over a year since the installation, and the decking still looks and performs like new. Their follow-through and customer service are every bit as outstanding as the product itself. I recommend Robbie and his team without reservation--if you're looking for a marine decking company, look no further. I wouldn't trust anyone else.

John Banister of Suenos Azules was extraordinarily helpful in guiding me through decisions on both…read moreengine survey and the overall vessel survey.I have been a boater my entire life, have done much of my own mechanical work, including diesel engines, and hold a 100-ton USCG Master's license. I am not new to boats, engines, surveys, or the buying process. I have rarely encountered anyone with John's combination of technical sophistication, experience, judgment, and straightforward common sense. What is extraordinarily rare is discussing the hull survey, overall systems, diesels or outboards, its not just what he knows, but how he thinks. He is logical, patient, candid, and able to take complicated technical issues and turn them into clear, actionable decisions. There is no drama, no salesmanship, and no tendency to overstate problems or minimize them. He simply works through the facts and helps you understand what matters. A small example is taking borderline moisture meter readings on a hull and turning them into the need for thermal imaging so you don't run into a problem that was hidden later. Looking at sophisticated outboards and realizing you can't re-sleeve this particular model but have to bore scope the cylinders for the plasma coating. These things are beyond the usual surveyor and beyond the usual engine, but a chip shot for John. If you are looking for a surveyor, a master diagnostician for engines, help evaluating a difficult hull issue, or simply an experienced second opinion before buying a boat, John is a rare and valuable resource. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

This review is based of numerous things. Number one, John Banister is a CROOK. You don't believe…read moreme? Send me a message for the full break down. There are plenty of other surveyors across the pan handle, do not hire this man. John Banister did an initial quote for a walk through a survey after we completed our boat, the quote was $4,500. He did the pre purchase walk through for $1,500. HE DID NOT NOTICE THAT ONE ENGINE WAS TOAST. $200k later and we have two new engines. We paid John Banister for thermal imaging of our vessel for $2,600. That was without a shadow of a doubt the most worthless report we have ever paid for. 9/1/24 we completed our vessel, about 8 month after we contracted Mr Banister. John told us the price was now $3,800 instead of $3,000 to come back. We have all of this clearly stating in writing, John is trying to fabricate some story that it was initially for a pre purchase survey. Hey listen you assmat buffoon, nothing changed here except your price because you felt it was too low. I don't care if we have to pay $10k, you are a liar and a cheater and you don't deserve to touch anybody's boats. This man is a thief! I will be reporting him to the state license board with all of our written communication hoping to have his license revoked. We will be suing him for his negligence with our initial reporting and hopefully drown him in debt. This man is a complete asshole and POS!!
