Don't wait six years or longer to visit this beautiful city park. I eagerly parked and immediately jumped out of the vehicle in order to walk among the landscaped trails. There are plenty of benches for rest, and a gazebo for special occasions. What a great asset to the City of Cleburne. Please check it out!

It is both park and botanical garden with a special area that is slowly growing roses. I'm not sure they grow in this part of the world, but it's pretty to imagine them here in full bloom. The park has a half mile walking trail and a pretty pergola that stands about a few picnic tables. The large open grass area would be ideal for a festival or fair of some sort. Very large playground frame with things to climb on and slide down. There are also a half dozen swings for the ones who are interested in such inertia driven play. The open area is pretty smooth and mowed well. I did not notice any holes that might cause an ankle to twist. A number of picnic tables, some with grills and trash cans, are about the park. Baseball field with bleachers and a press box, basketball court, picnic tables, playground, a picnic pavilion and a walking track. All of it in quite good condition and fronted by a large paved parking lot. The baseball field is lighted and fenced, including protected dugout areas and bleachers on both sides. Very cool. Nice stadium. Capacity is less than 4k. Getting in was easy they just scan your tickets and no…read moresecurity. Beer is on the right as soon as you walk in, wine on the left. I liked that they had Kona on draft, I could get two beers here for the price of one at a MLB stadium. The bar on the 3rd base side weirdly didn't have any draft beer. Each section on has about 8-10 rows in, so no bad seats really. We came the second day of the season and was surprised that the restrooms weren't very clean, all the sanitation bins were full - which didn't make sense. The stadium also had a fishy smell to it which I didn't notice to begin with but about half way through I couldn't not smell it! Most fridays if not all are fireworks and they let you sit on the grass - nice little display with a good view. Would come back again, hopefully they sort the smell and cleanliness issues out. Got a first time certificate but they don't have any stickers or buttons - they did have some in the store but wanted $5 for a small button! Game times tend to run longer than MLB, it was about a 3hr game.

It's a large lake and a 31 acre park but there really isn't much going on here. I did not spot a boat launch here (there might be one) and I don't know if you're allowed to fish the lake from here. The park is little more than an open grass space that is next to a small stream. Maybe there's a plan to develop this by adding parking or a playground or even some benches. Until then, pass.
