A short, middle-aged, pock-mark-faced man barked 'Yes!' at me from the till. I was unable to give all my symptoms as he cut me off to snarl 'allergic to ibuprofen?' . He then proceeded to reel off some instructions at top speed, that I could not grasp. After he snapped the price at me, I gave him my card with a look of incredulity. He couldn't even deign look at me when returning my card and dangled it from his fingers while looking away. In all my life, I have never been on the receiving end of such ridiculously bad service. With so many pharmacies in the area, I will be taking my custom elsewhere in the future, and I recommend others to do the same.

However, it's quite a small pharmacy with not much in the way of cosmetics and toiletries, which are also a bit more expensive than places like Boots and the Supermarket. No chit means I can't claim tax back and tax returns do add up. I asked three times if the printout was there and both parties confirmed it was. Yes, you guessed it. When I got home and checked, there was no sign of it. I phoned the chemist and told them. ZERO apology for their ineptitude and they wanted me to return to the pharmacy to collect the printout. I reminded the person I was speaking to that an apology would be in order but she said they were very busy. I said that 'sorry' was 5 letters long and didn't cost anything to say. I asked the person I spoke with to post me the printout. When I finally received the printout, the eircode was so far off the correct Eircode, that it's a miracle the item got to me. Avoid like the plague. I've never gone back and I don't intend to frequent this place again.

Even if you don't ask, there's a good chance you'll get a quick how-to on applications. Even better than it's speedy service is the hours; staying open till 9pm most nights means that after that speed-metal show at the RDS you can pick up some Panadol for your aching head on the way home.

And price are a little higher than the more suburban pharmacies, but I guess you can't complain when the location and opening hours probably make that necessary.
