Unlike other stations nearby, all the pumps are functional. I don't know when they service the car wash, but I've never seen it down. The air compressor always works ( remember when air was free? And someone checked it for you?) The squeegees for washing your windshield aren't frazzled and nasty. Of the four gas stations near me, this is the least convenient, yet I go here most of the time.

So, Last Friday, I had a tire blowout incident- by Sunday I needed to replace the wheel/tire. So I found the closest tire shop to this Circle K. As I am having my car serviced, im told that they do not accept debit cards- cash only! So I said, "that's fine- Ill go to the ATM" i walk to Circle K, use the atm, say thanks and leave...head back to tire shop. I get there and realize that I've left my wheel in moms vehicle, and now need to purchase a wheel as well. I say, "ok, ill go back to the atm" so I turn around head back to Circle K. This time I needed an odd amount($30), and ATMs give even bills. So I withdraw $40 and am already stressed at this point, I walk up to the counter and ask politely if they can do change for a 20. The clerk rudely says "no, I won't do that, we dont have change here" so I walk to the drink cooler and grab a redbull. I set it on the counter w/1 hand &a 20bill in the other, ready to just purchase a drink. I figured in my head that if they cant do change, they can SURELY let me have my change after I buy something with MONEY, right? NO, the clerk got nasty and disrespectful with me and actually told me this-"you're gonna have to get closer to 20 than that!" Basically telling me that I couldn't just purchase the redbull, I was expected to spend more of my money at "his" store in order to make the transaction and get my change. He goes on to say this after telling me that no I cannot buy this drink...he says-" well- the cats outta the bag now that you just need change so, im not selling that to ya" so i walked out, no drink, or change, no transaction whatsoever and straight across the way to the liquor store- they helped me right away, I told them briefly what had happened and they were so helpful and kind. I offered to buy something and they said there was no need-and handed me change no problem. Apparently they know of the CircleK clerk, he must have a rep for this kind of social misbehavior- Needless to say that this man needs etiquette lessons and maybe a BUSINESS CLASS so that he can learn that you dont ever treat someone that way in a "professional" setting, a stranger, especially your own repeat customer, and a person that was IN NEED at the time, as well as low on funds, like honestly I couldn't even AFFORD THE REDBULL BUT HE WAS SO RUDE I JUST NEEDED MY OWN MONEY BACK, (BUT LESS OF IT!!!!) I made a U-turn and stopped my truck on the gas station property and let my wife run in to refill the growler. I sat IN my truck, along with my grandmother and two kids, with my truck running. My windows were up, air conditioning on when I noticed my wife pointing at me and pointing towards the gas station building. I rolled down my window to hear my wife say... I have to move, that is a "No Parking" area. By this time, the gas station guy (D-Bag President) was YELLING at me to move my truck and did I not see the "NO Parking" sign?????!!! I was like... no SIR... (being respectful here...)... my apologies, but I did not see the sign and I am NOT parking my truck here and leaving it. I was just waiting on my wife to run in and do this quick errand and we would be on our way. This man was having NONE of it. He STERNLY asked me again to MOVE my vehicle. (Keep in mind... there was ONE other car getting gas at this time. It was not like I was holding up a line for other cars that were waiting on me to get gas... NO... I was FAR away from the gas pumps, bothering NO ONE... also no one else on the gas station property) I stated my case AGAIN... I said something to the affect of... "hey... I am NOT parking here... just sitting here waiting on my wife who will be back in no more than THREE minutes..." He said something like... if you do not move, I will call the police and have you thrown off this property... I then looked at him and said... WOW... I am really HURTING your business by sitting here huh!!?? (I had other very choice words for him... but I was not going to go there in front of my kids...) I then proceeded around the block, then came back ON THE STREET, next to the sidewalk, by the curb NEXT TO THE spot I was just at, but NOT on this guy's property. By this time, the wife came out, and we were on our way. Mind you... I realize I was, 1) on private property, 2) in a no parking "area" that I did not see the sign... my fault. I get that... But as a business owner... don't be a complete ... you get the idea. He could have been like... Excuse me sir... but this is a No Parking area. If you are going to be just a minute or two, that is fine, but please don't leave your car here. Thanks... BG Automotive? More like "BS" Automotive. The one star is for an oil change (since 0 stars is not…read morean option). BG Auto IS SHADY, smooth talking for sure, but A RIP OFF. STAY AWAY. This is a lengthy description, but it's not half the story. To all the glowing 5 star reviewers - check your invoices. The problem started with their "courtesy inspection" accompanying the oil change, where half of their recommendations (deemed red flag "Requires Immediate Attention") ultimately turned out to be mostly unnecessary and absurdly expensive. That became apparent only after paying. My bad, of course, I obviously should have asked to see a detailed estimate prior to the work. The initial estimate did not provide parts or labor detail & appeared to indicate the work was part of a "complete tune up." Upon dropping off the truck, "Service Advisor"Jesse stated that Champion copper spark plugs had been factory installed on 2013 RAM 2500s, so that was best & what BG would install. Classic BAIT & SWITCH: BG charged $508.48 for a set of 16 plugs! When I challenged the bill, asking if "kryptonite plugs" were installed instead, Jesse indicated, no, the copper plugs were used... then he checked his computer & stated, actually no, in fact the [far] more expensive NKG iridium plugs were installed. "They're much better because they last up to 100,000 miles," he emphasized. I replied, "Great. BG just changed out NGK iridium plugs that had been in the engine already, with only 60,000 miles on them." The WORK WAS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. Also on the bill was a "TOTAL FEES" charge of $175.77 (yes, that specific), but with ZERO DETAIL of what those fees were for or how they were calculated. Jesse couldn't provide that detail either, "It could be shop supplies, or hazardous disposal - you know, those state regulations - it could be almost anything." Note there were no hazardous materials involved with this work, such as a tire or battery disposal fee. (Google search indicates: In Colorado, shop fees are usually calculated as a percentage of the labor cost (e.g., 5-10%) and are often capped at a maximum amount (e.g., $25 to $50). Also, Colorado statute requires the repair invoice to have some kind of description of these fees, and further, "a description of each part by name and identifying number." Nowhere on the invoice was the type of plugs installed specified, either. You get NADA DETAIL from BS Automotive. Finally, while repair shops typically mark up parts 70-100% of wholesale price, BG is marking up parts in the ballpark of 100% of retail price. (If you can pry out of them the parts brand they say they'll use, you can easily verify this with a Google search at their counter.) They should be ashamed and embarrassed for what they're charging the hardworking folks of Longmont. When pressed to justify the charges, Jesse insisted they were competitive, "within 5% of other local repair shops." More BS. Comparing apples to apples (parts & labor only), the local dealership quoted over $200 less, the Loveland repair shop I've frequented in the past was over $400 less (obviously, checked after the fact...). If the handful of other shops Jesse quoted are actually within 5%, they are ripping us off too. Jesse would not budge on the final bill, but he did offer to comp me an oil change. As if! I had already told him I would never set foot in BG Automotive again. However, I would take a call from the BG Automotive (Owner) to provide the rest of the story about this pathetic BG encounter.

There was a problem with the communication surrounding the tow transfer so I started my experience with Hands on Auto Tech with some trepidation. Tom handled the situation and we moved onto the real problem with my truck. The diagnosis was the clutch so I approved the repair and waited a few days for the parts to arrive and the repair to proceed. After the clutch was replaced another problem with the operation of the clutch was discovered so I agreed to the additional repair and another day for repair. After a week I was reunited with my truck. The repair was costly, lengthy and unexpected but coming out the other side of this experience I learned a couple of lessons. 1. If you have your vehicle towed to a shop follow the tow truck to the shop and verify the transfer. 2. Communication and follow up throughout the repair are key Tom was great to deal with and I feel that he was honest with me about the repairs needed and the cost of those repairs. Having recently moved to the area I feel my vehicle maintenance and repair needs can be checked off the list. I can recommend Hands on Auto Tech to anyone needing an honest repair facility and Tom as a good guy to deal with.

This truck had belonged to my former landlord whereupon his daughter sold it to me as the old boy had gone to a retirement facility. In his later years maintenance and repairs had been let go but being sturdy and strong running, I bought it and am slowly bringing it up to snuff and it is good in the event I should need to do any long distance traveling with it. . Attended the new shop opening, located just off I-25 and Colorado route 66, where I met Mr. Maggio's family and some of the other customers who call Hands On Autotech their home for vehicle repair and servicing. I first went there based on the recommendation of the Martino troubleshooter show on 630 KHOW AM radio; 10 AM - 2PM, M-F. My opinion is that Tom's shop takes something of a scientific approach to vehicle repair and will go more in depth with an analyses than another shop I had been to for an issue with my '99 Tahoe. As an EV owner himself I gather that Tom is up on the current tech, perhaps more than some other places who would have men of my age (68) from the "dinosaur era" of automotive tech working at their shops.

Upon entering the store, I inquired about the cash price with the attendant, who confirmed it to be $3.34. I requested pump 10. However, upon payment, the attendant stated the total was $691.02. I questioned the amount and provided $700, receiving $26.26 in change for 172.799 gallons, resulting in a price of $3.89 per gallon. I expressed my concern to the attendant, who attributed the discrepancy to the possibility of price changes within a 30-minute period, which I found to be an unacceptable business practice. TA Wheat Ridge, CO pump price is just $3.799, where you get free coffee, ice, and a good clean shower. This Longmont Truck stop doesn't offer anything but takes advantage of people.

I do understand the suggestion about a spare tire cover, but unfortunately that isn't a viable option for me. A few years ago I was rear-ended by a driver going well over 75 mph, and I'm still dealing with the aftermath of that accident. Because of that experience, I keep the stock brake lights on my spare tire intact, as well as one on top of the spare tire and another one mounted inside the tire so that drivers behind me have every possible visual cue that I'm braking. Removing and reinstalling a cover each time I visit a car wash simply isn't something I'm willing to do for my own peace of mind and safety. (For anyone that's taken a spare tire cover off, it's definitely NOT a simple thing!) I would really love to continue my membership at BreezeThru...it's convenient and I've been a loyal customer. But paying the monthly fee and then also having to hand-wash the back end or make a second stop elsewhere just doesn't add up. She got everything fixed so fast, even with all the many projects, she was obviously juggling. Thank you Murphy's and especially Laura, for making all the weird start to that long work day, actually begin with exemplary customer service and a good laugh. You will never know how much your positivity, amid my dark energy day, meant- and turned everything around.

I burn ethanol free gas in my car. I find I get greater than a 10% mileage increase on the highway…read moredespite putting in 87 octane when the car calls for 91. This Murphy Express offers ethanol free. However, over the past 6 months or so the pumps have been brutally slow. It practically drips out of the hose. This is especially nice when it is 5 degrees outside. So I head into the store and asked the attendant if she knew the pumps were running slow. She says yes. She explains to me this is because when it is cold outside, the ethanol free gas in the ground freezes and doesn't pump very well. I was so completely dumbfounded by this explanation, I just left. I know it's cold and it feels like it's -70.... But it's not. Sure glad the fuel in the tank didn't freeze today. I'd better go get the car in the garage before it does.
