I would just like to add a note to this review, it would seem that the lady whom i refer to as the…read moremanageress is not actually the manageress however throughout my dealings i believed she was. I'm not sure if this makes my experiences better or worse however readers of this review should be aware of this and make their own minds up accordingly. (Start of review) I would not normally publish a review on a local shop but having been rubbed up the wrong way by the manageress in this shop, needlessly on two separate occasions in as many months perhaps someone more senior may read this and instigate improvements in the quality of service being provided. During December 2014 i used the shops on-line printing facility, it is a standard system with a what you see is what you get so problems should be very easy to avoid. I paid the £28 charge for the prints using my credit card ans was emailed with a receipt and confirmation of my order. I later went to the shop to pick up my prints. What i was presented with was not of the quality expected, half the images had been cropped at the wrong side leaving a large empty gap at one side and a small amount of the image subject missing. I accepted as the detraction was small and the subject still looked good.I was then asked to pay, having already paid i made this clear, and this then resulted in an argument in the shop. I produced the receipt in my emails using my phone to prove payment and after a hissy fit the manageress slapped the envelope containing my prints down on the counter saying take them them before immediately turning her back and walking away through a doorway. I took my prints and left. The person with me at the time was disgusted at how i had just been treated but i told her people sometimes have a bad day....... I bought myself a decent new camera for Christmas. An Olympus OM-D E-M5, however this camera doesn't have a built in flash so i decided to make enquires about buying one from Lords Photodigital. I telephoned the shop saying i had some equipment that i would like to get rid off, the call was friendly and i was asked to call in with the goods and see the manageress. Wanting a flash to match and perform well with my new camera, the flash I am after is the Olympus FL-600R and has a recommended retail price of £329.99. Hoping to either agree a part exchange price or even sell my equipment in the shop window for a 20% or 30% commission i took my stuff down the shop. The gentleman on the counter took my gear through to the back and asked us to come back in tens mins. That's exactly what we did but on our return the shop was quite busy so we mulled around until everyone else in store had been seen before re-approaching the counter. The manageress came out of the back hole with my equipment saying it wasn't worth them selling one piece of equipment as its only £75 quid on ebay and that there's no lead with the other piece of equipment so it they don't want anything at all to do with it. An explanation that item 2 didn't come with any leads from new turned into an argument and after checking everything had been returned properly i left the shop. Frankly the manageress loves to argue with people so if you like a good argument perhaps Lords Photo Digital in Brighouse is the shop for you! If a shop doesn't want ot take my stuff in PX or to sell them for commission that is fine, all they need to do is just say so politely before moving on to the topic in hand which in this case was that i wanted to buy a flash! I have used Lords for years, when i used to shoot with film i used to buy and let them process film there. No one else in town stocked my favourite Kodak Royal Gold films. I bought my last Flash there but i won't be buying my next. The shop used to be good with knowledgeable staff but it has gone down the pan.

I'd say it's aimed at more professional or semi professional customers though, because you need to know a little about digital images to get prints done. To get digital prints, you need to download their colour profile from the website and follow specific resizing instructions. It's a little daunting at first, but once you've done it once or twice it gets easier. The positives to doing this though is you know your prints will look perfect, because you've done the resizing and colour tweaking yourself. I usually take my images in on a disk, and they tend to offer you the prints in 24 hours. Sometimes if I've needed them sooner I've asked for them to be done on the same day, if they are quiet they usually say yes and don't charge me extra, but often they are far too busy to fit it in. The staff are generally friendly, sometimes when it's very busy they can appear a bit stressed, but it's understandable. One point that I have never liked about this place though is they charge you £1 for a folder to put the images in (or 50p for small prints) They do say you can bring in your own envelopes/folders to avoid this cost, but they don't make it easy for you. You can only bring them in when you collect but by that time your images have already been packed into one of their envelopes, so it would mean having to take the prints out again to put into your folder. Recently I think the standards are possibly sliding a little bit, I got some prints done which a few of them had bright yellow lines down them, and some of my classmates have suggested the standards aren't quite the same. However, it's definitely my favourite print shop, and my complaints are only tiny in comparison to their excellent service and nice quality prints.
