They were thorough while quoting, assisted us through all of our concerns, and provided a range of options to solve some of the more unique aspects of the project. The workmen were prompt, efficient, and professional. The job was completed exactly within the parameters we set. The team followed up a few weeks after the installation and immediately returned to fix a small issue. Andrew's integrity really shone through recently, however. Years after the roof installation, we called Andrew's in the hope they could assist with an issue we were having. Part of our home has a covered patio where the roof decking is exposed from below. Because the decking was so thin, the roofing nails protruded through the underside after the new shingles were installed. In hindsight, this was a unique situation that probably would have benefited from a different approach during the installation. Years later, when the exposed decking itself began to weather and deteriorate, Andrew's once again stepped up. Even though they really weren't obligated to do anything at that point, they came out within a few weeks and completely enclosed and finished the underside of the patio, including painting it, leaving it looking better than before. That kind of service is rare. They didn't have to stand behind us years after the original installation, but they did anyway. It's easy to find a contractor who will take your money. It's much harder to find one who still answers the phone years later and genuinely wants to make things right. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Andrew's Roofing. This is our second home and our first sexy roof purchase and I'm super pleased with the aesthetics and function. Also, Gerardo has such an amazingly positive personality, he's wonderful to meet up with and discuss the details of how he's going to make your roof better, from ventilation to water proofing to preventing storm damage. And he's so gleeful in sharing his knowledge, that I would say (with the utmost respect) that he's a roofing geek. If there are roofing conventions, he's probably there learning more new "exciting" things about the best and newest techniques for better insulation and blah blah blah... The crew, OMG, the crew was amazing and they worked so darn hard. They ripped everything off and then stayed late to get the majority of it finished for water-proofing because they thought there might be some rain the next day. These guys got to our home at 7 am and were there until a little past 10 pm. His main fix was for me to cut the metal post if my fence. I would think the professionals would at least call the owner to discuss the issue before leaving the site. I cannot believe they left that day leaving my downspout almost touching my fence feeling this was a job completed. I am so very disappointed. They came highly recommended. Nick Button advises that he will be back in the next week or two (not later than 11 NOV 11) in order to fix improperly installed eve spout, finish wrapping stairs, and covering backs of stairs. 05 NOV 11 - Part of underdeck blows off. 08 NOV 11 - Major leak discovered in underdecking. Took Video. 09 NOV 11 - Sent Nick Button an email advising on leak. 11 NOV 11 - Two week deadline passes. 18 NOV 11 - Phoned Nick Button. Nick Button advises other projects came up. Agreed to check with him next week. 28 NOV 11 - Left voicemail message for Nick to call me. No response. 02 DEC 11 - Left voicemail message for Nick to call me. No response. 05 DEC 11 - Left message for Nick to call me. No response. 06 DEC 11 - Left one more message for Nick to call me. No response. 06 DEC 11 - Sent certified letter to Nick Button asking for response NLT 23 DEC 11. 23 DEC 11 - Left message for Nick Button. Advised that they would email me the estimate. 28 DEC 11 - Spoke with Nick Button's attorney. Explained my side of situation and that there was a contract in place. He asked me to send him the estimate when it was completed and he would see if, "we could work something out." 04 JAN 12 - Met with my attorney to discuss the way forward. 05 JAN 12 - Received estimate from other contractor to finish work. $1273.06. 06 JAN 12 - Brought in remaining documentation for attorney to review. Drafted response letter with attorney and sent letter and copy of contractor invoice to Nick Button's attorney. 13 JAN 12 - Attorney received a call from Nick Button's attorney. He was inquiring whether or not if Nick Button paid the $1,273.06, if this matter would be settled. 17 JAN 12 - Met with attorney. Advised him that yes, if Nick Button finished the work or paid $1,273.06, the issue would be settled. 19 JAN 12 - Met with my attorney. To date, he had not heard back from Nick Button's attorney. 03 FEB 12 - Received letter from Nick Button's attorney offering $250 settlement (19.64% of requirement to complete work). 05 FEB 12 - Met with attorney, received advice on going to small claims court or to continue the letter process. 08 FEB 12 - Filed small claim paperwork for $1273 and change to have work finished. 15 MAR 12 - Settled for $680 as I was tired of dragging this issue out. Our two biggest complaints were 1) the contractor has refused to turn over any materials purchase receipts so we have record of the purchase for warranty purposes, and 2) We have an issue with one of the steps that has a saw cut in it that needs to be replaced. The contractor will not return text messages or calls. Before I would make a final payment to this contractor, I would make sure everything is totally complete, and you have all the paperwork to support the project. Our mistake was to give him a check late in the day of his final day on site, without having the ability to take a good long look at everything in the light of day. At that time he also promised to deliver the necessary paperwork, and to drop off leftover materials for use to make minor changes ourselves.
