Non-intuitive, and options are hard to find. You have to go through many screens to pay one single bill They put your HSA money in a non-insured account by default. You can lose it all. They closed two of my three HSA cards (family account) one day without notifying me. We found out when the card was declined when one of us needed medical services. The funds are yours to keep until you need them. It's YOUR account. It's YOUR money. There is also tax savings! HSAs are triple tax-advantaged. It reduces your federal income taxes - when you contribute to your HSA directly from your paycheck, you reduce your taxable income by the amount you contribute. Also, it earns interest tax free - your money earns interest while it is in the account and you do not pay taxes on the interest earned. Also withdrawals are tax-free. You never pay taxes on HSA withdrawals when the money is used for qualified medical expenses.
