My wife was at work, so I couldn't ask her to remind me. I called MetroPark on April 3rd for a pickup on April 4th and spoke to 'Sid'. He seemed like a nice enough guy although he couldn't seem to either hear or understand what I was saying part of the time. He told me what the price would be for the pickup at our home and for the return trip, I gave him my credit card info and email and he said I would be receiving an email or text confirmation. By the morning of April 4th, I had still not received any confirmation but what I did receive was an almost $400 charge on my card from them. The agreed upon price I got on the phone was $120 each way. I called the main number back at 8:10 am on April 4th, got a different person, told them I had not received confirmation and asked why I was charged so much extra. He was rude and condescending, said it was sent and that I should check my spam email (which I had already done prior to calling), told me the extra fees were for gratuities and other expenses and added that I shouldn't book them if I can't afford it. Keep in mind that this comment comes from a semi-literate working at a taxi stand. Needless to say, I emphatically told him to cancel the service and hoped this would be the end of it. I then called my bank to give them the heads up about these charges as I would be out of the country for over a week. They explained that the charges were still pending, but I at least wanted it to be on record that I contacted them immediately. As I write this on April 13th, the charges were still on my card, so I filed a fraud complaint with my bank and the charges will be taken off. Also, we went with the car service we had previously used and they were honest, charged less, had a clean, new car and were top notch. Even our driver was a pleasure. To summarize, it is much easier to be an honest company who treats their clients with respect and good service than a vampiric parasite who tries to cheat honest people out of their money. You are only hurting yourselves in the long run through loss of business and reputation. MetroPark, are a few extra ill-gotten bucks really worth it?

At Metropark train station, he discloses that he has no credit card reader. Off he goes to BORROW A CREDIT CARD SLIP. 2 minutes later he's back and proceeds to spend another 3-4 minutes filling out the paper. HE HAD TO ASK WHERE THE SECURITY CODE WAS. IN YOUR HAND, DUMBSTICK. Meanwhile, my train comes and goes. Holiday schedule, so I have to wait another 40 minutes for the next train. Here's the icing: he says credit card minimum is $11 bucks. I take this trip every week, it's $10 bucks. I took the trip the other way just that morning, it was $10 bucks. Ok Mr. Tool, I usually tip $2 bucks, so you just saved me a dollar. So I'll use Scooter again -- there aren't many options at Metropark -- but I'm not hanging up the phone without confirming price and payment conditions. Metuchen Taxi is Never a problem and they're much cheaper per mile. If they served Metropark I'd never use anybody else.

I was then told the driver had traffic on the Belt Parkway and would arrive by 8pm. The driver did arrive by 8pm. The problem was after we asked what time he left NJ for the pickup, he said 6:30pm. If true, the dispatcher sent him when I first called. That was not our agreement! I don't like lies!

They made what could have been a stressful last minute change in plans extremely easy, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future!

An e-mail was sent with an invite that you respond to confirming your appointment, and you receive a text from the driver a half hour before pick up. My driver showed up very early, and was waiting for me at my requested pick up location. Very friendly, helped with my bags, had a beautiful Lincoln, and got me to Newark in no time! He even was kind enough to look up my departure gate at my terminal for United Airlines! Also, exchanged in pleasant talk on the way!
