She was attentive and responsive every step of the way, moving quickly to schedule viewings and making sure I never missed an opportunity. As a top-tier agent, she also has access to pocket listings and properties that may not yet be widely available. As a first-time buyer, I especially appreciated Catherine's patience and willingness to explain every step of the real estate process. She made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel manageable and connected me with a stellar real estate attorney and a top-notch home inspector. Catherine also brings a unique level of expertise to home evaluations. Because she comes from a family of home builders, she understands construction and knows exactly what to look for. She noticed important details that helped steer me away from properties that looked beautiful on the surface but had issues I never would have recognized on my own. When it was time to make an offer, Catherine suggested thoughtful ways to help me stand out and convince the seller that I was the right buyer. In Chicago's competitive real estate market, those small but strategic details can make all the difference--and they helped seal the sale. From the moment my wife and I agreed to work with him, he owned the entire process. He also navigated some incredibly difficult negotiations involving new condo financing restrictions that could have easily derailed the sale. Here's what I really want people to know about Matt. He has a big personality, especially online. I'm sure that attracts some people and turns others away. But I wish I could shake the people who turn away. Selling your home is one of the biggest financial transactions of your life. You're not looking for a buddy. You're looking for someone who knows what they're doing and will get you the best possible outcome. Matt has more transactions than anyone in Chicago. The numbers alone should speak for themselves. When I first met with Matt, I had this grand idea of exactly when we should list our condo (4-6 months down the road). Matt politely but confidently threw that plan out the window and told us we needed to list the following weekend. It felt CRAZY at the time, but that one piece of advice made our family thousands of dollars. Matt understood exactly how the market was behaving and knew that waiting would likely cost us money. He was absolutely right. That's exactly what you want in a real estate agent. Someone who knows the market, takes ownership of the process, and isn't afraid to tell you when you're wrong. Matt did all three, and I couldn't recommend him more.

Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, my wife got a job in Chicago. She had 2 weeks to find a…read moreplace to rent that was close to her future work location. I started looking for agents on the internet. You would think that being one of the top-5 biggest cities in the US, Chicago is an easy city to find an agent in. WRONG! Every agent I called turned out to be a either a douchebag who "did not do rentals" or an asshole who "had nothing in my price range". After a few hours of looking for an agent, I was convinced that I will end up having to rely on outdated Trulia data and take my chances with open houses during our 1-day house-hunting trip. I ended up cursing at myself, Chicago, and all its real-estate agents and did what I typically do when I want to cool down: filled a bowl with plain yoghurt and took it to my bed to eat in peace. After devouring the first spoon of plain yoghurt, I came across Stephen's number on Yelp. I was pessimistic, but that one spoon had un-pissed me enough to give another agent a chance, so, I said, what the heck, I'll call this one too. Now, this was a cold depressing Sunday afternoon, so, nothing could really cheer me up and I wasn't expecting anyone to answer anyways. Still I called anyways. He answered the phone asking me the exact kind of questions I was expecting "how close do you want to be to the loop?", "how do you feel about spending $100 more to get a place that's closer". He then took time to explain to me how real-estate market works in Chicago (it is VERY different than Boston and San Francisco!). We exchanged emails and he put us through the smoothest apartment-hunting experience anyone in continental US has experienced.

If you're looking for the ideal real estate professional in Chicago, look no further! Christie is…read moreabsolutely unbelievable. She has a rare skillset that includes years of experience with the Chicago real estate market, insane organization and project management, a warm and inviting demeanor, a keen eye for critiquing properties honestly, and (perhaps most importantly), a deep understanding of her clients. While there were many people involved in the process of purchasing, she was the leader that did not let any balls drop and understood the motivations of everyone along the way. She took the time to drive us around the city neighborhoods for hours, before we even signed an exclusive agreement with her. She looked at properties for us while we lived across the country, and planned entire weekends house shopping for us when we came into town. She stopped us from making offers that we would not have been satisfied with in the long term. She walked us through every step of the buying process, which was new to us, and made us feel so comfortable along the way. She is the definition of "soft on the person, hard on the problem", and was a very strategic negotiator for us during the bidding process. She was always available to answer our multitude of questions via text and email, and even worked on an offer for us on the weekend of a big family event in her life. Even after we closed, she has shared her network with us for plumbing, roof work, etc. This was the biggest financial decision of our lives, but Christie made it easy, because she gained our complete trust. We will sing her praises to anyone entering into the buying or selling of real estate in Chicago. Thank you for everything, Christie! We feel so lucky to have found you.
