Brad and Pit's Ribshack just opened a branch in Kapitolyo. I heard about the restaurant because of the cheap food (budget meals mostly) they offer. According to what people say, the you get more then what you pay for. So, I had to try it!
The parking is limited so, try to eat here during slow times. The place is a house converted into a restaurant (which is the norm in the area). The interior design is a Tiki bar mixed with a quotes and vinyls. Pretty dark too. So, my suggestion is that your group should sit in the back.
The husband and I ordered the Ribs combo (Php149) and the Steak combo (Php185). The combo meals include rice + a side dish. Honestly...the food is a bit overrated. The ribs are smothered with sauce that appeals to the Filipino: super sweet. The pork ribs were not tender and "fall of the bone". By the way it tasted, the meat was not grilled. The steak was, unfortunately, also sweet. Also, the meat was cold in the center when it was served. The funny part? It's a big steak but super thin. For drinks, order the Cucumber Shake; it's refreshing and I preferred over the Root Beer Float that Carlo drank. To end the experience, we were full. But, not happy full.
I understand why people like it here though. The food is very affordable; student budget affordable. Plus, it's the perfect place to go after a drinking sesh. For me, it is good to try it for curiosity's sake. Personally, I don't think I'm coming back. There are other food restaurants in the area that serves better barbecued pork ribs. read more
