Some really beautiful items. Granted, it is not a fancy gallery, and a bit run-down. But the artwork is wonderful. The highlight for me were several carvings by Eddie Apodaca, a member of the Coast Salish Nation who comes from a family of carvers. He was trained by Jacob Lewis and Earl Lewis, and has clearly come into his own based on the intricacies and detail level of his work. The amazing thing about this gallery is the pricing - they have a very wide variety of custom pieces at prices that are well below what you would find in similar galleries in the Vancouver area that perhaps have fancier carpeting or background music playing instead of a TV blasting on some bad movie. This gallery is a diamond in the rough. Definitely worth a visit if you are passing through on your way to Whistler!

What a fun gallery!…read more It's All original art and all local artists to the greater Vancouver area. They have stuff I can actually afford on my student budget of craft dinner and mr. Noodles. Lol They do all types of events too. They have Painting parties for adults and a Zombie walk and hunted gallery on oct 19th 2013 for Halloween. The coolest thing is they Change over all the artists in the whole gallery every two weeks to keep it fresh with more of a show Atmosphere. They also help youth artists in the community. Really cool young couple that run it too. So jazzed about what they do and speak so highly of the artists in the gallery. I'll be returning all the time to see the new shows!

Saturday 1700 The…read morePlaza Galleries was relatively quiet at this hour and we were able to enjoy the art pieces unmolested by other patrons. I was in love with almost every piece and unfazed by the prices. The store owner Barak and the other European lady were fantastic at giving us our space and then at explaining the art process and the history behind the pieces we were interested in. I was superbly interested in a bear piece by Miri, who happened to be Barak's sister, and Barak described her painting process and the curators even brought the piece over to another room so we can observe how the painting changed when the lights were dimmed. When we left we were told two other couples had expressed interest in the bear piece, then when we came back from dinner another couple were just leaving to dinner to talk over which two of three pieces (one being the bear piece) they were going to procure. The 48" by 48" piece shipped to the US cost $350 Canadian and is insured and fitted into a custom crate, to arrive in a week. Overall a happy, happy customer!

From the usual touristy tee-shirts to the carefully curated items of candles, chocolates, nuts, soaps and jewelry made by the locals living in the Sunshine Coast. This is definitely one of the shops I will stop by to get little gifts for friends and family. The Christopher Norman chocolate is really good. I also love the candles here. Parking is available on the street.

They had a number of interesting paintings from BC artist Jennifer Sparacino. It's hard to explain, but as the lighting on the painting is reduced, it accurately reflects what the landscape would look like during different times of the day - in terms of sunlight, fading sunlight - very cool! You have to see this! The lady managing the shop was very nice.

When i saw this gallery the works looked similar to an artist from Lunenburg nova Scotia that i had collected a piece from years ago. we went inside the gallery and was greeted by a very sweet woman who spent a lot of time with us. - turns out Mark Richards is the son of the other artist Daniel Richards. Both my sister and i walked out with a purchase each. Now both works of art (father & Son) are in my entrance hall and just looking at them takes me back to the Canadian coasts.
