I've been a happy client of BQ Tax for years and I can't see myself going anywhere else. They have always managed to effectively pay for themselves by going above & beyond to ensure they get us the maximum return possible, while having an unmatched attention to detail - the details that will ensure our returns are filed properly without any unexpected delays or issues. Their communication, ability to keep with the times, and customer service before, during & after tax time makes them second to none. read more

Preparing your own income tax return can be a task that leaves you with more questions than answers. According to a study released by the US Government's General Accounting Office last year, most taxpayers (77% of 71 million taxpayers) believe they benefited from using a professional tax preparer. Even if you use a computer software program there's no substitute for the assistance of an experienced tax professional. As a small business owner you have more important things to do than to keep your own books. We take care of your books for you, so you can get back to the job of running your business and generating profits. Estate planning on your own can be complicated and costly. And the list is endless... state taxes, bureaucracy, probate courts, unfair appraisals, health care concerns, eligibility of heirs, life insurance, IRA's, 401K's, annuities, burial or cremation costs, and intent regarding death-postponing treatment to name a few. I'm young and taxes are pretty much a foreign language to me. Michael helped explain them all to me in the simplest way possible, and he was able to amend 3 years worth of taxes, basically pick up where I left off and explain to me what my next steps were. He even gave me instructions for all my amended returns in the easiest steps for a process I had never done before. Michael was extremely patient and easy to contact when I needed help outside of his office. He provided me with status updates and was able to meet on my time to go over the final stages. I highly recommend Michael and his business if you need your taxes done, from the smallest of returns to my sort of problem--where you don't know what you're doing. For MANY years I have had the pleasure of dealing with partner John Cahill at this firm…read more John is the antithesis of what a lot of folks think about attorneys. John is outrageously personable, honest, knowledgeable and accommodating. He has even done so things for me in the past with no charge. John cares about his clients and his actions always reinforce that. I give my highest recommendation for John. He specializes in real estate and contract law and handles wills, etc. if you are in need of a classy attorney give John a call. If what you need is not in his area of concentration he will happily provide a referral.

The Covid lockdown year was traumatic, realizing that we had to move was traumatic, packing up and saying goodbye was traumatic... but we were able to purchase a house here in Albany. Even though we were cash buyers and willing to meet the seller's price, her attorney was weirdly combative and unaccommodating. There was a tiny typo on the title (could the hostile attorney have made a mistake? Heavens!) and we were very worried that our whole moving-in scenario was in jeopardy. A moving truck full of sweaty men was on its way, the cats were unhappily ensconced in a pricey hotel, we were completely stressed out... And then Laura Marro from Messina and Cahill entered the scene. She was calm and professional, which was really very reassuring in the hot mess our simple closing had become. She hopped on her phone and in minutes the problem was resolved and we were signing on to our new adventure. I would strongly advise anyone looking to close on real estate to rely on Messina & Cahill. Ask for them if you can, they saved the day for us!

I'd always heard good things about State Farm, and the Ochs family really brings it to life. Kevin took the time to answer my questions and offered examples of scenarios that I hadn't thought of. Together, we came up with coverage that I feel confident will adequately protect our assets should an emergency or mishap take place. Although I'm a new client, I strongly recommend contacting them based on my positive experience with them in finding and switching my insurance coverages.

After they realized their local accountant was unfamiliar with trusts, they approached me for help. I recommended they enlist the help of a professional CPA and contacted Mr. Zeitler for his assistance. I recognized that the tax filing date was approaching fast, so I specifically asked Mr. Zeitler if his work load allowed him to accept additional clients at the time. I explained the situation and he assured me that he'd have time to complete the paperwork. I sent him all of the corresponding documentation for the trusts. After a week passed without a response, I attempted to contact him multiple times. Once I reached him, he told me that he'd be unable to complete our work due to an overwhelming workload and suggested contacting another CPA. I couldn't believe it. He had said he'd be able to complete the work and now he was telling me he couldn't do it after wasting a week of valuable time. I'd highly recommend against using Mr. Zeitler. His lack of professionalism leaves something to be desired.
