I had a comforter and table runner that needed dry cleaning so I took it by one of their Greenville locations. Young man scan the coupon and it was on my receipt. They have a great service now where you are notified via email that your items are ready. Went by to pick them up and I was charged full price was over $50 for two piece!!! The young lady didn't know why the discount didn't get deducted, but was going to send an email to their main office and said they would be in touch with me about it. Gave it several days with no response. I called and asked about it. I was told that the coupon said it was not for household goods. I pulled the coupon back up and it says no such thing anywhere on it. I asked for a manager and was told they would call me. After another few days and not hearing anything, I called back. Told me that the manager had been out of the office and would call me when they were back (why didn't you tell me that in the first place?!). Over one week later and I have never been contacted by Bowen Cleaners. I'm guessing the coupon was a bait and switch. I would not recommend Bowen Cleaners and will not use them at all in the future.

I asked friends that live in Greenville, NC for suggestions. Cassie's Sewing and Alterations was one of the suggestions. I called and they were able to work with us. I made an appointment for August 11th @10am. My daughter went in and they were very nice to her. She left her dress for the alterations that were needed. They were hemming the bottom, taking in the waist some and the armpit area. They suggested that she have the straps adjusted. They are the professionals so my daughter agreed and left the dress in their professional hands, they told her it would cost $500. Fast forward a month to September 8th, My daughter went in to pick up the dress. She tried it on and was not happy but thought may be she was over reacting. She questioned them about the straps and they said it is how it had to be done???? She called me in tears and said that the dress was ruined . She said that the straps were ruined maybe not the whole dress as the other areas with beading was not as noticeable .. I told her to send me pictures that I am sure she was just stressing. When I saw the pictures I lost my shit. Thankfully the shop was already closed because I was not happy to say the least. My daughter decided that she would take the dress back first thing when they opened (9am) to see if they could fix it before mom called them. She went in told them it was unacceptable and asked if they could fix it. She told them to not do anything until they told her what they planned to do if they could help. Cassie's Called (11am) and said that they could not do anything more to the straps. They offered her $100.00 and told her it was fine. I called them and told them that throwing a $100 at her and telling her its fine is not ok. I asked how long they had been in business and what was her thinking on the straps. I told her that my daughter would be returning and $100 in my opinion was not enough as it would cost more than that to repair. My daughter went over to get the dress. They gave her $200 and told her not to take it anywhere else. They told her she was pretty, the dress was pretty and it was basically all good. They told her that I insulted them by questioning what they did to the dress and that they were in business for 25 years. Wedding dresses are expensive and alterations can be expensive but when someone take no care as to the alterations that is very sad. I know that being a seamstress is hard work and time consuming but if you do not know how to do something DONT DO IT, Not everyone can do dresses with beading and that ok...
