He fertilizes, puts down pre-emergents, spot sprays for weeds, and uses dormant sprays and insecticides on shrubs. He has tested my soil. I over seed my Bermuda grass with rye in the winter, and he aerates the soil before seeding. In the last few years, he has moved in the direction of organic treatment of lawns and shrubs, which is just what I wanted to do. He is offering an organic service that focuses on enhancing the health and mineral content of the soil in order to produce healthier grass that doesn't permit weeds to thrive. He puts compost tea on the yard and uses organic fertilizers and pesticides. I love experimenting on new ways to improve my yard and reduce maintenance/cost, and he has been a good partner in meeting this goal.
