As far as gas stations go, this Meijer Gas Station at first looks pretty normal. Since I shop at…read morethe Meijer store here I will occasionally stop in for a fill up. The pumps are spread out so there is plenty of room to get in and out wherever you find an empty pump in any direction. Since they are all of the ubiquitous Pay-At-The-Pump type of gas pumps, I rarely need to go inside, but when I do, the staff here have always been friendly, helpful, and professional. The grounds, areas around the pumps, as well as in the station itself have always been kept generally clean and inviting. They have their gas prices posted in lighted and easy-to-read numbers. Even the simple details seem to be covered such as always having liquids in the containers for cleaning your windshield, and related to that the scrubber squeegees actually have scrubber material on them so you can get your windshield clean. This is consistently one of the better service stations in the area.

Be sure to stick to the larger grouping of pumps or pay inside, because I've been there a handful of times without issue--but the one time I used the lonely set of pumps by the Avon entrance, they got me. I don't suspect anyone working at the station as being involved, but I wanted to let folks know just in case it happened to you and you were tracking down the source of the data theft. Also, if you're one of the many people that aren't aware of credit card skimming--I've seen numerous pictures of the actual devices and actively inspect for it and I didn't see it. So, the only way to really avoid it is to pay inside with cash and as I mentioned, avoid those lonely pumps out of the way. However, if you live in the real world and can't be bothered with waking into a bank for cash (since ATMs are just as vulnerable to skimmers) your best bet is to use a credit card, because they've got better fraud protection and it's easier for them to reverse the charges since it's the bank's money up until you pay your bill. Debit cards may or may not be able to reverse the charges and the bank has less incentive to get your money back, since it's your money that was taken--not theirs! To anyone reading this review, my rating of 3 stars has not impacted by this incident--I'm not out any money and I sort of had fun investigating my little mystery! It's a legit, middle of the road gas station, which would probably be rated lower if the employees weren't so nice. The parking lot really kinda sucks; the pavement is pretty pitted/uneven and it's a pain to navigate when it's busy--and it's always busy. The prices aren't the best, but it's usually slightly better than the station closer to M-59.
