We arrived very late in the day but they still had a Dj out in the lot and inside the showroom there were boxes of delicious donuts to help yourself to. They usually have a barista at events, probably did but he was gone when we got there. They have an espresso machine and fridge filled with drinks anyway so if you are there to buy a car or get a service they will hook you up with your drink of choice. A few weeks ago we did a Mini drive where they catered breakfast for hundreds and then we all drive out to o'reillys winery where they put on an awesome lunch and games and test drives. And the there is the product they sell... the wonderful Mini, a fun to drive funky little car!

It's in a convenient location for me en route to work (though I imagine they miss a lot of potential inbound traffic in the mornings), they accept ANY valid discount fuel docket, the staff are friendly, there's a drive-through car wash, and there's a new addition of an Ultratune workshop on site now as well. Their fuel prices stay competitive with the Caltex/Woolworths servo across the road, though I'd much prefer to support these guys.

I do have to add a disclaimer that the extended time may have been my fault, as I was asked if I needed my car back by a particular time and I made the potential mistake of saying I had the day off and was going to wander around the suburb, "so no hurry". I was advised that I'd get a phone call before any work above and beyond the service's standard labour was done - "should be soon, around an hour or so". Three hours later (when I was a bit done with wandering) I figured I'd better call them, in case they'd gotten my number wrong or their calls hadn't been going through while I was burning through data on my phone, or some other excuse. No worries, hey! They only just had my car up on the blocks. Again, like I said, I will claim responsibility for the delay. Make sure you give ABS a pick-up time and I reckon everything should be fine. I was quoted decent prices (eventually, but still in advance) for the additional stuff my car needed, the gents were all lovely, and in the end the timing turned out quite well for me - I got the "come and get it" call just as I'd finished lunch. I would definitely entrust my car's servicing to Bob and the crew at ABS Woolloongabba again.

The only problem I ever have is trying to get in for the urgent stuff as they are usually booked out for a couple of days in advance, this means you do have to keep your wits about you and not expect them to drop everything for your emergency. Excellent clean workshop with people who know what they are talking about and not trying to rip you off. A full list of works is supplied with every invoice showing you exactly what was done, they also call you should you require any further work before proceeding for acceptance of cost associated. As we only had 1 car and 2 kids, I really needed to book it in for a service it was long due for. I thought of all the regular places I took my previous cars and then I thought, why not try Ultra Tune... they had a shop in the Mt Ommaney Shopping Centre car park and was nice and convenient, close to where I lived. I rang them up and spoke to Shane the owner, he was friendly, very helpful and was very up front about the costs of the service and what the process would be. So book my Lamby (car pet name) in I said. The same day I rang, my car was booked in. The car was serviced, wheels were shined and the interior was vacuumed. I picked the car up without any delays, they rang me to let me know what was happening and they rang me to let me know my car was ready to be picked up (simple things like this usually have gone overlooked in my past experience). I picked my car up and Shane was really professional, told me he ran the Ultra Tune in Darra and had waited 15 years to get the spot in the shopping centre, only moved in 6 months ago. He was down to earth and the prices were very reasonable. The battery we had to purchase was $100 cheaper than what RACQ had charged me previously and the service was a good $100 cheaper than the next quote I got. The workshop was clean, well looked after and everything was new. I am definetely impressed with the personal service I received, the friendly attitude and the efficiency of the servicing of my car. I am definetely taking my car back there the next time I need to, and maybe I can learn a few pointers. Plus, I am a big supporter of local business. A wheelin' good time.
