Review #489 Saturday…read more- 8/31/2024 Stop In & Back Out On Your Speedy Way! :-) This Busy Speedway location is in Barkeyville, Pennsylvania off exit of I-80 near Route 8. I always make a quick stop here to top off tank after leaving cousins house 3 hours before and use my Speedway card. Travelers and residents as well stop here all day long and probably at night too for a gas fill up, coffee caffeine, grab and go hot or cold food intake, snacks, beverages, clothing, candy and soooo much more! My photos show it all inside and outside with propane, camp firewood. There are many gas pumps with trash cans at each two station areas. The staff inside was friendly when I had to stop in for a gas receipt since the machine outside at the pump was out of paper. She apologized and told another helper employee to refill the roll promptly. :-) There was a sign that I forgot to snap a photo of that this Speedway has been remodeled and has a back area for truckers since its near the freeway. Exit off I-80 to Clarion Pennsylvania. Thanks to this Speedway for being here for a fuel fill to get Me back on the road from PA cruising to Ohio Turnpike then back to Michigan ! When compared to the long established, larger truck stop chain restaurants that have become tired, dingy, dim, overpriced and overrated, Kwik Fill restaurants offer a fresh approach to over the road dining scene. A good place to meet the locals and travelers in friendly conversation. The food stands above the established crowd but is not above improvement or refinement. To be a greater success, to attract vital repeat clientele is to raise your standards above those of your faltering competitors and not to copy their poor business skills. Don't gouge travelers and use quality products. Their clam chowder soup was excellent. Fish was excellent but the breading was flat and tasteless. Items on the salad bar were at the correct cold temperatures and were very good. My vegetable omelette was very good as were the home cooked potatoes. When you say would you like your toast buttered? I expect real butter and not slathered with some margarine spread. There is NO substitute for real butter. The same applies to cheese, nothing compares to real cheese products. When the cheese sticks to your fork like glue, something is wrong. Overall everything I ate was very good. Highly recommended. A very good local option.

The previous generation harrisville sheetz was like Home to me. I would even help out in the kitchen when short staffed. But now, I feel like I'm walking into a mini Walmart it's so vast inside. I'm not sure whether or not I'll be able to come inside and not get sudden flashbacks of all the good and bad we've all been through in the old sheetz. It was almost like losing a close family member. I ventured outward to find sheetz that are still like harrisville and nothing has been close yet.

When I called in to the dispatch office the man (whose name I did not get) was very rude, but I…read moreneeded my vehicle towed so I ignored it and asked for a driver. Right after I got off the phone with him the driver, a nice man named Ryan, called me to let me know he was on his way and would be there in about 40 minutes. Not even 5 minutes after that I learned that I learned that I left my wallet at home. I called the dispatch office and told them the situation and that I needed to cancel the tow. I was then rudely told that I had greatly inconvenienced them and that there was a dispatch fee. Ok, understandable. What wasn't understandable was the fee was $50. The driver could not have been 10 minutes out and as traffic was, not far from the office. I asked what the fee included. The dispatch man (same one as before) rudely listed off a list of things. 1. fee for gas 2. fee for the drivers time 3. fee for CLICKING ON THE AD to call them. I told the man that I did not click on any ad and that I found the number online. When I searched for towing companies on the computer the number automatically came up and I called from my phone. He proceeded to tell me that I was wrong and had clicked on the ad and that it cost money to run the ad so I had to pay for it. I told him that I had no problem paying a fee because I did understand that I caused them an inconvenience but that I considered $50 a ridiculous amount. He told me I could pay it or he would call the police. He said that any call for service was a binding contract but I could try my luck with the police. I told him to never mind it because by then 15 minutes had passed and the tow driver was almost there and that I would figure something out. I ended up getting my vehicle towed and had to use my boyfriend's card. At first Ryan told me their card machine was down and that I should have been told that over the phone. (I was not) I convinced him to try it and thankfully it worked. The only redeeming quality of the whole horrible experience was that Ryan was very kind and acomidating. He was able to take $20 off my bill for the horrible service but all in all I would not use this company again.

I can't say enough about how nice, honest, and skilled Rick is. I had a unique brake incident on a…read morerainy Saturday evening and Rick face timed with me so I could show him the problem, then on Sunday morning he picked up parts I had ordered at a nearby parts store, brought them to the parking lot I broke down in and proceeded to spend the next few hours patiently completing a rear brake job that even though he didn't have the exact specialty tool my VW required, he persevered and did just a great job! If you need roadside help and he's available, don't bother calling anyone else.

Got locked out of my car. Called roadside and was told 1 1/2 hrs until someone arrived. The…read moresavior to my day showed up within a half hour and quickly unlocked the car. Super nice...super helpful. Even made sure the car started up before he left. Would recommend this company in a heartbeat.
