Despite my two star review I go here all the time because it's the closest gas station. Can't say…read moreI'm a fan. They sell gas, understandably prepaid, and one of the few places that's no-ethanol. (They're considerate about the whole pre-pay thing if you're filling up gas containers or something.) They run about 5 - 10 cents higher than gas stations on the highway, but given their location they're not unreasonable and they follow the cycles other gas stations do. I did notice that after I had a brake-fluid buying binge that when their stock ran out they raised the price. (So I stopped buying it there.) They have takeout food, and have a limited selection of convenience-store items. Quite personally I'd never eat here and I'm not a picky person. However, I'm influenced by my first experience when I got those packaged little donuts and they tasted like fuel. I go to M&M market across the street if I need a packaged snack. The kitchen area doesn't look appetizing. The cashier takes care of food orders, gas, lotto, etc. so service is a bit slow, but they seem to know all the regulars. The cashiers are not slow or lazy, and they're nice enough, they just have a lot to take care of. The station has an air (tire) machine which is 75 cents. They have an ATM in the store. They do not sell kerosene. (I believe the BP on Main St. in Church Hill does.) It's okay to stop at for gas and auto needs, but that's about all I'd stop there for.

As I neared the Tennessee/Virginia state line, I saw the familiar red of Sheetz on the roadside sign. I knew, without a doubt, that I would be making a stop here. Pulled off the highway and made my way here. This location isn't far from the highway exit so it can be as quick of a stop as you need it to be. I stopped to refuel my vehicle and of course go inside and refuel myself. This location, like most, is a busy one. I was lucky enough of to be able to pull into a pump right away. However, when I was done fueling I had to leave my vehicle at the pump as most spots were taken in front of the store. Once inside I made quick work to use the facilities and grab a drink. If I didn't have more miles to go, I would have gotten myself a MTO. I opted for the self checkout to help facilitate a swifter exit so I wasn't taking up a the spot at the pump for too long. Once I was done inside, made my way back to my vehicle. When I exited it was a quick reentry onto the highway to continues on my way.

Even though I've been to a Sheetz numerous times, I'm still surprised each time I visit to discover new and old menu items. I often choose a breakfast sandwich, fries, or hot drink. This visit I opted for the custom salad. Most items on the menu are very customizable. This is great if you have specific food preferences or you just want to get creative. Although this Sheetz was busy during our visit, several of the ordering kiosks were open. We placed our orders at the kiosk, paid at the counter, and used the restroom. The restrooms do need a little attention. Our order was ready in a reasonable amount and accurate. Even with our customizations the items were made correctly and tasted great. Overall, Sheetz is a recommended spot for gas and food while traveling.

I think we can all agree that a good gas station is an essential part of any road trip. This…read moreRoadrunner is just that, essential. Whether you need to gas up, grab a cold one, or hit the head, this is the gas station for you. When I'm on the road, I tend to drink A LOT of coffee which is a lethal combination with my tiny bladder. So, I'm always looking for the places with the cleanest bathrooms, you feel me ladies? Of course you do. Therefore, you can trust me when I say, you will be hard pressed to find a cleaner restroom. As far as the business of gassing up, there are several pumps at this gas station. The more pumps, the less wait time. The less wait time, the quicker you're back on the road making good time. If you're looking for a gas station at night, look no farther than this I-81 exist 69 Roadrunner. This is one of the best lit service stations I have ever been to. I feel very safe when stopping here at night. Not to mention, the light is prefect for a few pumping gas selfies to upload on Instagram. (I kid ) The building itself is very large. So, you have a larger selection of drinks and road snacks to choose from. And, if there are any 'beer drinkers & Hell raisers' reading this, the store is equipped with a large walk-in beer freezer and a wide selection of cigars. If you are all burnt out on the gas station favorites, jerky and candy bars, and looking for a quick meal yet do not want to make another stop in a drive thru, you have options right here. They do have a lunch counter where you can pick up things like pizza. If you are looking for a healthier option, you are in luck too, there is a Subway connected to it. In closing, don't cheat yourself from a wonderful gas station experience. You deserve this!
