Sure the ad said they had a tandem bike but it could be gone before you get there. "but i called ahead"... much like a garage sale a family member might sell it not knowing. or they have a first come first serve policy and are not holding any items because in used sales we all get people who call and never show (craigslist). if your coming from any distance for a specific item, see if you can prepay over the phone (ive not done it but i think they are pretty reasonable to work with). the best items go quick so let your cash talk. As for the prices, the retail side is hit and miss. if you find the exact item item cheaper or same as amazon they will usually work with you. but usually the item they stock are more industial than the ones the regular consumer buys You will notice a fenced area piled with damaged or hard sell items. on certain days they will open this up at deep discounts. but its a crap shoot. its fun to dig through and look for the little gems hidden in the industrial bulk. make a pile of your finds and they will shoot a price. sometimes I score, sometimes I walk away because I dont like the price.
