I needed a small remodel job for one room and 2 baths, talked to Cransten…read more and thought they should be a good choice, Big mistake. told it should take a week to a week and a half. the job called for taking out built in bookcases and cabinetry in one wall, take out paneling put up drywall, install vanity and new top and sink in bath a, and then new counter top and sink in bath b. Job started, In at 9 and leave at 11, in at 10 leave at 2, no show 2days. At the end of the 10th work day (Uri) and 33 hrs. on job I called super for help (Omar). After the 13th day I gave up on the idea of bath b and I called the main office for help (Bryan & Christina) and asked please come out and just look at the job being done here and tell me if this is the quality of work you represent. Omar finally came out and said I can't believe this and this will have to be redone. They were having trouble scheduling and we had our spring vacation coming up so we gave them the keys to the house and said we will be back on this day it's all yours. Returned home Sunday afternoon at 4 (one week on vaca and 6 weeks after job start) and Troy is loading up his tools. The main room is 90% and at this point I'm happy with that but I walked into the bath and nothing had been done there to finish, the same as (Uri) left it, missing base board molding, unfinished drywall. If you have anything beyond 1 man, one day, patch and repair stay away. Poor supervision, poor follow up.

Choosing Lakenridge Builders to bring our home to life was the best decision we could have made…read more From the very first meeting, their team listened closely to what we wanted -- not just in terms of layout and finishes, but in how we hoped to live in the space. They took our ideas, added their expertise, and created a home that feels both beautifully designed and deeply personal. The craftsmanship is exceptional. Every detail -- from the dramatic window walls to the custom kitchen features to the serene bathroom retreat -- reflects the care and pride they put into their work. Throughout the build, communication was clear, honest, and consistent. We always knew what was happening, what decisions were coming next, and why certain recommendations were being made. What impressed us most was how genuinely invested the Lakenridge team was in getting everything right. They treated our home as if it were their own, and that level of dedication shows in every room. The finished result is a space filled with light, comfort, and character -- a home we're proud of every single day. We would recommend Lakenridge Builders without hesitation to anyone looking for a builder who values quality, integrity, and true partnership. They didn't just build us a house -- they built us a place we love coming home to.

Do not make the same mistake we did! After…read morebuilding three homes, our experience with Lakenridge Builders was by far the worst. We experienced significant cost increases, poor communication, delays, and disappointing workmanship. The 20% contractor fee structure resulted in costs far beyond what we expected, and we often struggled to get clear explanation for additional charges. We also moved into a home with unfinished work and problems that required our time and money to correct. Based on our experience, we would never recommend Lakenridge Builders.

They got started sooner than we thought they were going to be able - which was awesome. After receiving our estimate, we got a sweet, handwritten card in the mail which was a lovely touch. While there are a few minor things we're not totally happy with (mostly cosmetic things we now need to figure out how to fix on our own: glass shower door that doesn't open and close smoothly; a couple of loose floor boards; loose knobs on new laundry doors; small holes in wall where stair railing was replaced; grout splattered on walls and bathroom door; wobbly ceiling fan), we will likely hire them again for future needs.

Communication and project management were lacking, and I often felt like I had to handle both the project management and quality control myself. We also had workmanship issues that required a separate, unaffiliated crew to come in and redo or finish several areas. Our home ultimately turned out beautifully, but the process was much more stressful than it needed to be. Better communication, oversight, and quality control would have made a big difference.

Though I hesitated I am a man of second chances. Tim contacted me, wanted me to remind him of the job so he could make sure he was quoting the right thing. I did and he sent me a message quote. I ended up allowing them to the do the work not because they were the cheapest but because of the explanation of what needed to be done and how they would do it. The main issue was that I had some leaks and needed some roof repair. I also asked for some gutter guards as well. I was given a date and they showed up promptly. The main guy on site was great and kept me informed of the process. A second crew came to do the gutter guards and they do did a good job and was very quick also. During the roof repair, as the guys were walking, a couple planks were busted which caused more leaks. There was no way the crew would have known this at the time but when I realized it I called Tim back and he scheduled a time to have the crew return. Again they showed up promptly, repaired those areas and was gone in a very quick time.

I am not a designer so I needed help with colors and I had to make sure that what I chose would look good with what I was keeping from the old kitchen. Celina steered me in the right direction without being overbearing. Mistakes? No one is perfect, but the sign of an excellent contractor is how they handle mistakes. I picked a wrong sized sink. No problem! I returned it, and got help finding the correct sized sink. No problems getting a full refund on the spot. I've dealt with contractors in the recent past who would not do this. But not here. Celina wanted to make sure that I was 100% happy with the job they did. I am. Next project, my master bath. At least I don't have to look for the right people to help me with that!
