I've been shopping at Boyers for years. And I finally decided to write a review. Just picked up a pair of white gym shoes that were looking more like tan than white. They cleaned them up. They look amazing!!! Whether it's been to shine my boots or put a new zipper on, they've always done an excellent job. My only complaint is, the prices are too low. I'd be willing to pay double or triple what they charge. read more

I had a pair of boots that I absolutely loved but they were too wide in the calves. I sent them in to Boyers to be altered. They slimmed them by about 1.5" and now the boots fit PERFECT! The craftsmanship is exceptional and they look as if the were made that way from the beginning. Super happy with the service and would recommend to all looking to alter boots to fit better. These people are great. Super friendly. I had a bit of a drive to get there. I was dropping off a hat to get shaped. In learning of my drive, they were able to work me in so I didn't have to make another drive to pick it up. I'm not someone that easily interacts with others but they made me feel right at home, great welcoming smile. I was charged about 1/3 of what I was optimistically hoping to spend. I should have brought my boots also. Even though I have no immediate need, am hoping I end up there again. read more

I CANNOT believe this place has not been reviewed. I moved away from Quincy as a full-time resident over 21 years ago, lived in much larger areas (Champaign and now St. Louis), and have yet to find anyplace to take coats with zipper repairs, shoe repairs, and anything leather related that does anywhere close to the job these folks do. Invariably I go home to Quincy for a short day or two, take something to Boyer's, and they do whatever it takes to get it ready by the time I have to leave. I lived in Quincy for eleven years. This is the best place to get your shoes repaired. They use really nice italian leather for the soles of the shoes. They do an excellent job. Their attention to detail is outstanding. When you get your shoes back they look brand new again. We moved to Dublin, Ohio recently and I am preparing to send my husbands shoes by mail to Boyers to have them repaired. Boyers is worth it. read more

Shoe shamans? Heel healers? Sole whisperers? Whatever the case, I badly scuffed a pair of heels, my retro-looking go-to shoes, when I fell in the dark while rushing down a hill to midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. Throughout the service, my knee bled though my torn green tights. But, I knew my knee, unlike my shoes, would be self-healing. The shoes, I lamented, were ruined (ye of little faith), as well as discontinued. All hope seemed lost, until a blog, responding to a question about repairing a gouged boot, brought a glimmer of hope: "Yes, your boots can be fixed. Our repair dept. at Boyer's Bootnshoe, can successfully buff out most scuffs, scrapes, and gouges....Can you do this yourself? Sure. Like anything, having some experience and knowledge makes a difference. But, I'll share how we might do it." The blog went on to give very thorough and skillful instructions for repair. So generous it was that I liked these people instantly and felt confident that I could entrust not only my high heels to them but also my favorite pair of cowboy boots, boots I have walked through life in--loved in, created in, danced in, cried in, laughed in--for over thirty years. I had worn holes straight through the leather; the upper was pulling away from the sole; the boots were scuffed and scraped and ragged; the heels needed replacing. To many friends' dismay, I continued to wear them. Several years ago, a young, hip apprentice at a San Francisco hair salon, who was shampooing me, asked if they were vintage. As an act of faith, I sent my boots away to Boyer's, in the box with my heels. Just a couple of weeks later, they came back to me, looking like new. The boots looked better than new, because you can see some very subtle patching in places, a record of our long history, that adds to their charm. Not only a great selection of boots and reasonable prices, but awesome customer service as well. I had a seam stitch fail on a pair of work boots I really like, so I mailed it in to see if they could resew the seam. Not only did they resew the seam and mailed it back to me - NO CHARGE! I've done a lot of business with Boyer's for about 20 years. Have yet to have any issue. From boots purchased to boot repair to new zippers installed on my coats. I've also recommended Boyer's to many people and have yet to hear anyone complain. I only go to Boyer's for a reason. Great customer service and great products and great repairs!!! read more

I don't know what we would do in Quincy without Boyer's. Whenever I have a non-clothes item that needs mended (shoes, coats, bags), I immediately think of them. Over the years they've re-soled my heel, replaced the zipper on my winter coat, fixed the lining of a purse and are currently trying to fix a snapped strap on a sandal. The cost is very reasonable! read more

Do not take anything valuable to them. They ruined my suede Sam Edelman boots and my 250. Leather bag!! They acted like it was no biggie. I couldn't and still can't believe it! I was also charged after they ruined both my items. They do have cute cowboy boots but the customer service is awful. The girls are RUDE!!! :( read more
