The lintel above my garage, which is the long piece of metal that spans the width of the garage and holds up the brick above the garage door, was sagging, which means the bricks were also sagging, no longer straight or level, and the grout was cracking severely on both sides. Clearly the original builder used a lintel that was too short, it only overlapped the sides by a few inches and it should overlap by about a foot. I was concerned the bricked above the garage could collapse and come crashing down. See all the pictures. Michael came out to asses, gave me a price right then and there m, and we made the deal on a handshake. He came to the house when he said he would each time, communicated regularly via text and in person, brought out his extremely capable mason team when needed and got the job done in reasonable time with incredible results. They removed and reset each individual brick, every row of bricks above my garage all the way up to the roof, and they *cleaned and reused* every brick so they would match the rest of the house perfectly. The end result is truly astonishing, it actually looks better, straighter and more uniform, than I could have imagined, it literally looks better than new. See photos. The grout cracks are all fixed just as he promised and they look amazing. His price was extremely fair and very competitive with other bids. I 100% recommend Michael Smiley for your masonry work and I will absolutely call him first, without a doubt, for my masonry needs in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Grady and his team were and are great, paid attention to detail and cleaned up each day. ABR used hot dipped galvanized replacement iron. Do your self a favor, get a quote and have a conversation with Grady, he knows his trade well. They also repaired the chimney cap and pointed up the brick joints while here at my request. Jean provided an estimate, the workmanship that followed was shockingly poor. We never saw the owner Leon prior to the day the cement was poured So obviously he did not know what we wanted and didn't care. The concrete is riddled with cracks, unevenly cut, and stains he promised would fade. the stains are still visible one year later. Leon abandoned leftover tiles and never even came back to finish the job. It's clear that they don't stand by their promises or their quality at all. Please refer to the attached images that show just how poorly this was done. I strongly caution anyone considering Best Concrete to look elsewhere. It's been an extremely frustrating experience." Our front porch steps needed replaced due to water damage. Bob came out and I described what needed…read moredone. I told him that I wanted plastic boarding to be used. He said ok, he will get back to me with a proposal & price in a couple days. I got his proposal via email. It had the amount and he said it would take 2 days to complete. He started work 3 days later. After working on the first steps, he said that he didn't include plastic boarding for the sides of the steps and he would not pay for it. So I had to research and find out who carried the plastic boards, order and pay for them online before he would pick them up. It cost me an extra $70 above the proposed cost for the work. He made a mistake with the bottom plastic board (cut too short). So he had to get another at his cost. But he cut it too short also. He then asked me if he could paint or caulk it to make it look better. I told him that I wanted the plastic board to go the full length across the bottom of the steps, so it would look right. He got mad, drove off, got another piece of plastic, came back & installed it "improperly" and left without letting us know he was done with the job. I do not trust him to repair it correctly, even though his invoice states (1) one year warranty on workmanship. My neighbor and I will repair his faulty work on our own time.
