if you follow my reviews or have ever had a conversation with me about food, you'll likely know that i will never stop loving french fries. so imagine my excitement level skyrocket as i was going to be at nationals park for the opening of box frites:: a concession stand devoted entirely to my beloved taters. box frites boasts that they have "belgian-style frites and dipping sauces" and i gotta say, i was skeptical. i had a horrible experience with garlic fries at nats park last season (as in..the taste of garlic just wouldn't leave my mouth no matter how many times i brushed and rinsed), and i vowed to never look back. but danny meyer insisted on upping the ante and intrigued me with his garlic-parmesan frites. then i heard about the smoked bacon aioli. done and done. first of all, the special garlic-parmesan frites are $9.75 sans dipping sauce. ARE YOU INSANE? though i don't think they were worth $9.75 (just regular, thick-cut spuds..definitely not belgian-style), i respect that it's the novelty of being in a park, and the novelty of quality roasted garlic and parmesan available in said park. now, it's important that you listen. if you want regular "frites" here, that's fine. i might even try regular next time just to check 'em out. but the $2 they charge for the smoked bacon aioli is absolutely worth it. it's decadent, chilled, and sinfully delicious. i also thought it paired well with the garlic and parmesan. other dipping sauces (also $2 each):: chipotle ketchup, ballpark mayo, bleu cheese, and rosemary ranch. these fries could be a meal in itself. they were incredibly filling. and for $10+, they should be. none of that shoestring shit, we're up in the big leagues now.* --- *pun intended.

I usually stop here every time I come to a Nats game and get the garlic frites. The portion is very large and is enough for 2-3 people. I thought they tasted great with ketchup, so I would definitely purchase them again. They are a kinda pricy, but I usually eat a meal before coming to the games anyways so this is fine for just a snack. The lines are also shorter than some of the other places, so it's easy to grab a snack and drink and get back to the game.

Basic Burger is new to the L'Enfant place food court…read more Online ordering was straightforward and efficient...and my order was ready within 10 mins for pickup. Full disclosure, I was getting my hair done nearby, and placed an online order because I was starving, and wanted a quick hearty bite during my deep conditioner hair treatment. I ordered a double cheeseburger (almost the same price as a regular cheeseburger), and a turkey burger for later. Also I ordered of regular fries, and sweet potato fries for my friend. I specified that they place their 'basic sauce' on the side, but they did not provide the sauce at all. And barely enough ketchup packets for my order. The burgers were both pretty good. The fries were tasty too. However, for the price, the place isn't all that. If you happen to be in the area, and you're in the mood for a burger, this place is good, but you can definitely find a better meal for much cheaper. I recommend, but only if you truly wanting a burger. They also offer veggie burgers, chicken sandwiches (grilled, fried, or other flavors), beyond (meat) burgers, fried fish sandwiches, and hot dogs.

the wait was 20 minutes, with 4 other people in the line. I had to wait 15 minutes to order, and 20…read moreto get my food. It was honestly not great, either, because the burger was very much basic. I think that my 20$ for 2 things would MUCH be better spent at any other booth. Do not go here.
