But that's totally forgiven as they seem to be staffed by volunteers. If this was more of a corporate thrift store I'd dock the stars for that. Anyway, it looks like as of my August 2017 visit the thrift store is open 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays and have daytime hours Tuesday through Friday. I would check with them for hours if you're driving to Seneca. The food pantry is by appointment for those in need. As for the thrift store...it's not huge, but it's pretty well stocked and they have low prices. There's quite a lot for babies, kids, and expectant mothers, including linens, pregnancy and childcare books, children's and maternity clothing, etc. I was seeking adult clothing, magazines, books, and decor, and found a few items that made it well worth the drive from Joplin to Seneca on a Saturday morning. Most clothing is neatly hung and reasonably well organized. My favorite find was a vintage style top that seems to be homemade but is fantastic! They were having a special summer sale making it dirt cheap. They also accept donations of merchandise or spare change for their mission of providing hunger relief for the community, so I have to give five stars. The ladies working were very friendly and polite when we visited the store.

It is a down to Earth take on fancy antique stores, where most items have a real story behind them and are authentic, true antique pieces. Because of this you may get sticker shock at times but it's worthwhile. These people clearly know their merchandise and I would feel confident making even a larger purchase here. There's a fairly wide selection of items in here, about what you'd expect for an antique mall of this size. While other antique malls in the area have a larger selection, this one was still fun to browse through. It wasn't overly cluttered, though there wasn't much that I felt like I REALLY needed to take home with me. Not junk necessarily, but nothing that would improve my home or my life majorly. I also found that a lot of the booths were a bit overpriced? This seems to be a problem in the Joplin area specifically, as antique malls in other nearby cities (Springfield, Kansas City, Branson, etc) all seem to have lower prices on average than what you can find in JOMO. Still, there are some hidden treasures if you're willing to look! - I particularly enjoyed the booth close to the front with all the Pokemon cards. They'll make great stocking stuffers when the holidays come around :) - The booth on the left side with handmade ceramics was also awesome! Very reasonably priced and unique, interesting work. These would also make great Christmas gifts! Definitely worth checking out and we'll probably be back, but watch what you're spending! It can get up there pretty fast!

There are tons of booth with a wide variety of things to satisfy any serious antiquer. Clearly I am not a fan of the newfangled "mixed-use" antique mall & Temu/Shein/AliExpress reseller booth concept. I really don't like walking into a business and seeing AI slop and cheap plastic junk when what I came for is antiques and secondhand items that I can give a second life. It goes against the whole purpose of an antique mall/thrift store, which is to help people find beautiful, old items and keep more things out of the landfill for longer. Now that that's out of the way, I can tell you that I had a great visit to Junkerville! I found several gorgeous things that will make excellent gifts this holiday season. The crown jewel of my findings? An antique Victorian fold-out fireplace screen in beautiful condition for $65. I'll admit that $65 is quite a bit more than I would usually spend at an antique mall but this is a piece so rare to find in person that I didn't even have it on my wishlist because I never thought I'd find one. I truly can't explain how lucky I feel! $65 is already a good deal for what I found but on a whim, I asked if they take offers. For reference, most antique malls will call the seller and ask for you if you want to make an offer on items over $50. They said they don't do that, but that she could give me a 10% discount! Who am I to say no to that?! Needless to say that I left Junkerville poorer in the wallet but a very happy camper. Stop by and check it out! Take your time - there's tons to see!
