Unlike their peers, they come when they say they'll come. They let you track their location when they're on their way, so you know how close they are to you. If you have a sub zero fridge and the freezer won't close, swap the rails left right and flip the basket front to back. Otherwise you may have water and/or ice ruin your floor. Walter came out today to diagnose my SubZero - expensive machines but made to last - this one is 17years old and finally gave me a "wrench" symbol on the freezer side - which I didn't notice because I don't look at the panel very often - I DID notice that the ice cubes I grabbed for my husband's Manhattan were wet. Not good. Checked the temp and it said 10F - that's not right. Tried all of the regular tricks, turn off power at machine AND fuse box, restart, give it some time - no dice - Walter came, for $250 diagnosed machine, that money went towards the repair that we decided to do - a new relay (his test relay worked and no wrench for 12 minutes) and a new fan motor (oil all over it) - he also straightened my condenser blades, which I had at some point flattened somewhat, reducing the efficiency of the condensers. The repair was $1000, and this is the first true repair needed on that machine in 17 years. (They had been out twice when the machine was new for other things that I should have learned by myself...) read more

We had an electric surge after the recent storms that tripped all the GFIs in the house and damaged 2 clocks plus our SubZero... water/ice dispenser ceased functioning. William from BOX appliance came, identified the two burned out control boards (yes they were expensive... like REALLY expensive...) Thank you PG&E :-( William found the problem quickly, and actually had the replacement boards in his truck (That's a miracle in itself !) Unfortunately these high end expensive appliances also break down frequently. But atleast Box has friendly and knowledgeable technicians. A technician named Rommel has come to my house multiple times to fix various issues. Everytime he comes, he not only fixes the issues but also checks my other appliances and gives me tips on how to keep them clean and maintain them for a longer life. I give 5 stars for ease of appointment request online, for communication from dispatch, and the skill of the technician. Both techs we've had for our fridge were knowledgeable and efficient. The only downside is the service charge which for us was $650 for 1.25 hrs. I understand the cost of everything and now fuel have risen. One year ago we paid $325 for approximately the same service time, I recall. Overall, I do rely on this company's expertise with my Sub-Zero and wouldn't use another. read more

I had the necessity to have ate control panel on my 3 year old Wolf 6 burner stove inspected due to the oven light failed to come on and I was not getting any response on the panel. I contacted Box Appliance and explained the problem. They said rather than send a technician out right away they would order a replacement panel, which would take few days and schedule a day to come to my house once they received a replacement panel, but I would only be charged for the panel if that I fact turned out to be the problem. They called me to schedule a technician visit as soon as they received the panel, which it turned out was the issue. The approach they recommended was the the fastest and least expensive solution and the technician changed out the panel in shop order. While I was very pleased with Box Appliance, I cannot say the same for the lack of quality of my experience Wolf stove. When you pay the price Wolf charges for its stoves, you expect them to not present an expensive issue at such a young age. read more

Marvin was thorough, professional and helpful. He not only answered questions but as he worked, took the time to actually show us what he meant while things were apart. We learned a lot about our Wolf range we didn't know. Of course the issue we were having didn't replicate while he was here, but he did find that our broiler wasn't working. We so rarely used it (like I can't even remember the year we last used it! But he explained why not using might be the issue and gave an estimate to fix. (We're still pondering that fix since we can't recall the year we last used..but it will probably be annoying the one time we need it and don't have!). The Box experience was also really good. While the service window was wide - 3 hours - I was kept up on progress via text starting this morning until he arrived just a bit after the early range of the window. The cost was a bit higher than hoped, but not extraordinarily so. We definitely would use them again and would recommend. read more

Box Appliance is a tale of 2 companies: one, they have great technicians, who do their jobs really well and are friendly and professional. That gets 5 stars! However, on the other side, you have to first interact with the horrendous and rude front office personnel. Not only are they not interested in what you're dealing with, they have never cared to find a better solution to help you out. I spoke to the lady to schedule an appointment for my Sub-Zero refrigerator that was not working at all. I have 5 Sub-Zero appliances and I have used Box MANY times over the years, so clearly I am very loyal to the brand and to Box. But yet, she was not able to acknowledge that and find ways to send a technician right way to my house. I called on Monday, even sent an email, and yet I was given a Friday appointment, after I clearly told her that my refrigerator isn't working. We had to throw all our food away, as a result. You would think that with all these years of working with them, and even paying for yearly maintenance trips (like I did this year in May with the same technician), they would treat a repeat customer better, but it is too much to ask. I get treated better (and thanked) by the customer care people at Sub-Zero corporate every time. read more

We were lucky to have Vic fixing our appliances. We just moved in to the new house for a week and the wolf microwave start function did not work and the vent downdraft were stuck. Wolf support was very helpful and coordinated with Box appliances to send someone out to do diagnostic. Vic was very knowledgeable but what I appreciate most was his kindness and humor. He assured me that he would get it working properly. He ordered parts and came back a week later and fixed the 2 appliances. Giving one star just because it doesn't let me submit with 0 star and doesn't have negative stars! I've had one of the worst customer service experiences with them, looks like stealing money rather than actual service. My stove started to beep randomly continuously once while. A technician came by, promised to fix the stove, by ordering two expensive parts, saying that for sure one of them would fix the problem (he said the cheap one would but let's order both just in case), said he'll be back with the parts in 3-4 days to fix it. He even said that I won't be charged if neither of those parts fixes the problem, and he'll try the cheaper part first to see if it solves the problem by itself, and if it doesn't work, then instead he'd try the more expensive part. And I'd only pay for the part that fixes the problem, and I get my deposit ($661) back if the issue is not fixed. Because of the extra part he ordered, my despot was also higher. Fast forward, one month has passed by, I kept calling them multiple times a week, sometimes multiple times a day. I have been requesting the order cancellation and refund of my despot for two weeks now, still waiting for "someone to get back to me". I managed to talk to the technical manager and someone from their "customer service" once, they both promised separately to follow up, but still no follow-up from them either... and they still have my deposit. We have a Subzero refrigerator that is under warranty. A couple days ago the ref rye igerator fan was making grating sound. Called for warranty service. Set up appointment and requested advice on what to do while waiting three days for technician. Was told to mot worry and wait for technician. After a couple of days the fan noise ceased. Technician Melanie arrived and imediately saw a vacumn pack frozen food bag was up under the back of the refrigerator. She said that the plastic bag was probably hitting the fan. We put bag back in and heard the grating sound. Problem solved in under five minutes. She also showed us a similar location in the freezer that this could happen. I have to say this was a very good experience for us Melanie was great. read more

He spends the time assessing exactly what's wrong, does meticulous work, knows a lot about the appliances, and takes the extra step to make sure the customer is happy with the work. He's a true professional, very personable and friendly, and seems to really enjoy what he's doing. His partner-in-training Abraham is also outstanding -- friendly and attentive to detail. This is a review of their customer services not the actual repair since I did not end up doing the repair yet. I called 1st thing in the morning 8am, and I immediately got hold of Niki, and she was super helpful to set up an appointment in late afternoon on the same date for my Wolf microwave oven diagnostics/repair. She patiently explained how the charges would be, and the fact about preordering parts anyway and if the repair ending up not needing the parts those parts would not be billed. She also replied in email super quickly as well, and we got SMS updates. Later on the same date before actual appointment time slot we canceled the appointment since we might just replace the oven instead of repairing. I was in meeting so I sent an email to notify her, and she canceled my appointment quickly as well. I have never worked with any appliance repair vendors with such superb customer experiences.
