I had Linda Morton as my GP in the 80s at a time when I was really struggling emotionally and…read morementally. To any trained clinician my presentation would have been clear. But she never asked questions relating to my lifestyle and presentation, in fact I felt she was quite judgemental and disapproving, which was not at all helpful. Could have saved me a lot of pain and help to avoid placing myself in dangerous situations had she taken the time to delve a little and ask a few questions. I never forgot this, it had such a huge impact on my life, not having anyone who cared enough to take an interest and have a chat.

There are of course free clinics to get your child immunized but I like the personal approach rather than the production line 'next!' style of some clinics. I did quick search on Google for GP's in my area and came across plenty of reviews on Dr Linda Morton highlighting her supportive and family oriented approach. Taking your baby to get a needle jabbed in her arm isn't the pleasant of experience as any new mum will confirm. The doctor was gentle and quick which I appreciated but wasn't as warm and welcoming as I'd have liked given it was my first visit. I felt a bit rushed and walked out not feeling compelled to go back. My community nurse recommended another doctor in the area. Dr Morton is good for those who like the old home style feel rather than a clinical polished surgery.

To be honest, the only thing good about this place is Dr. Nespelon. I'd give him a 4 star on his…read moreown if I could, but everything else is only worthy of a 2 star. I also like that they bulk bill. But... they are NEVER running on time and most of the doctors treat you like a number, not a person. I went in for a blood test and saw one of the doctors and had to go back in less than 24 hours later for the results and the doctor acted like she had never seen me before and asked what she could help me with- when she in fact was the one who told me to come back the next day. I've been to her about 8 times in the last couple of years and she always acts like we've never met and she's never made an attempt to learn to pronounce my name. My most recent experience has had me fuming!! I had an appointment at 3:10pm. I called up around 3:05 to see if she was running on time. They told me she had 4 other people waiting before me- it would likely be a 40-50 minute wait! They offered for me to come in at 4:30 but I had a meeting at work I could not miss. I asked if I could come at 5, they said no. I asked if I could change to a different doctor, they said no. I asked if my doctor could just call me (since the ONLY reason i was going in there was for a blood result), they said probably not but they would leave her a "message". What, they can't speak to her for 20 seconds when they are in the next room? (She never called by the way) I asked if my test results could be sent to a different office, they said that I personally couldn't make that request. When I expressed a bit of frustration that they couldn't accommodate me AT ALL (remember, this is all because the doctor was running 40-50 minutes late!!) they just said the doctors couldn't see me later because they all had to leave at 5 because they have commitments. YEA, ME TOO!! Hence why 45 minutes late won't work for me! Like I said, other than Dr. Nespelon, who is great- the rest of the doctors that I've seen here here don't really seem to care and the reception staff definitely doesn't seem to.

Staff at the front desk are VERY ordinary but the Doctors are always great. They have a nurse onsite that will do blood tests Etc. Never had a bad experience. I would recommend it because they have lots of doctors on site and you can always get an appointment in an appropriate time.

Whether it be the flu, an aching back, chest pains or other, it is common knowledge that we all get…read moresick at some point in our lives. And when you get said sickness it is probably a good idea to check yourself in to the doctors. Broadway General Practice provides an easily accessible and well-located option. There are numerous doctors here, all professional, friendly and willing to help you with your ailing requirement. Walk-ins are welcome but I recommend calling ahead to make a booking because no matter what the circumstance, you can guarantee there will be a wait. Bulk billing is only available for seniors or on an as-Doctor-sees-fit basis, my only problem with the place. Fresh Therapeutics Chemist is conveniently located next door so you can get your prescriptions filled straight after your appointment. So if you are sick, need some care and live in the area, Broadway General Practice is a good place to go.

I've been here twice in one week (bad luck, right?) after the recommendation of a friend, and…read morefinally feel like I've found "my" doctor in Sydney (I've lived here two years). This practice is quite large, which has its pros and cons. You can book appointments online quite easily, and have an overview of which doctors are available when, and what ailments they specialize in. Because of how big this place is, they can provide at least an initial consultation for most health issues, and then refer you on to specialists as needed. The front desk staff have a lot to do, and as a result may not always come off as being very friendly or polished, but I got the feeling that they would be able to answer any questions I might have had, and I saw them making a real effort to answer the phones. I interacted with the front desk to pay a $70 consultation fee for each of my appointments (I'm not covered by Medicare). As with any doctor's office, I always aim to arrive early in case there are forms to fill out, and am then prepared to wait because other people's appointments always run over--and when it's my turn to see the doctor, I want their full attention, rather than feeling they are rushing to get to the next patient. In my two appointments here, one (scheduled for midday) started twenty minutes late, while the other (scheduled for 9:10 started early). As a relatively young person, I'm very conscious of whether or not I'm being listened to, and I really appreciated that both doctors I've seen here were genuinely interested in my health problems and suggested multiple ways of addressing them. As a result, I actually have confidence that the doctors here know what they are doing--in the past, I've met with doctors who prescribed antibiotics without running any tests, and written leave of absence notes for work after barely examining me. It's also helpful that there is a pharmacy on site, as well as physio and psychology services. This is definitely a buzzing "health hub" as a result, and attracts a broad audience, but that seems to be a testament to the quality and convenience of this service. I don't necessarily look forward to doctor's appointments, but now that I've found Broadway General Medical, at least I don't have to dread them.
